Best Crabs in Annapolis
If you want actual hard shell crabs, Cantler's or Mikes are your best options. Under no circumstances go to Buddies. Keep in mind that if you're saying that you want crabs, but you really mean crab cakes, then the best options are very different.
All Green Market in Glen Burnie
You know, I feel like it's not related to those Value Food stores. I may have gotten the name wrong (actually my brain assembled it in the more logical way). I think that the store name may actually be Food Valu.
All Green Market in Glen Burnie
According to the banner that's up it will be Valu Food. International market was under that name in small print. I'll wait to see what it look's like before getting too excited...it's not like there was an H-Mart coming soon sign.
Triple D comes to Annapolis
I said that I'd be insulted if I had a nice restaurant and was told that it was either a dive or a diner (clearly its not a drive-in). Certainly they're not upset, the publicity far outweighs it. I just don't why you'd include a typical mid range restaurant-bar on the show. Next week is gas station tacos, fine that fits. But well prepared Irish Food in a nicely decorated space?
Dim Sum in Baltimore - Does it exist?
Yes, they're still around. I'd always recommend weekend cart service over ordering from the menu. I haven't been to Asian Court in a few years, but thought the food at Red Pearl was comparable. I actually preferred Jesse Wong's Hong Kong to both while it was still around.
Triple D comes to Annapolis
That show clearly lost it's way. Is Galway Bay a Diner, Drive-In, or Dive? If it wasn't for the good publicity, I would be insulted if I were them to be 'nominated' for this show.
Dim Sum in Baltimore - Does it exist?
If you're willing to travel to Grace Garden, surely you're willing to travel to Columbia to Red Pearl for decent Dim Sum.
Driving from DC to Philadelphia
My usual pitstop is for ice cream at Bloom's Broom dairy in Belair. They also have sandwiches and salads to complete the meal, but the ice cream's the real reason to go (I'm pretty sure they have combination meals that include ice cream!)
Couldn't get in to minibar, so we should go to....
If you're looking for Thai, why not try to the new Little Serow? It's supposed to be quite an experience. No reservations, but may be worth a wait.
Indian in Anne Arundel or PG County?
In Anne Arundel I'm really only aware of India's and the new Basmati in Annapolis. India's has always been pretty "ehhh" to me, and I haven't been to Bamati yet, which I think only opened a few weeks ago near the Chevy's on Rt. 2.
Cracker Barrel - Best bang for your buck?
I find that you just can't go wrong with Granpa's Country Fried breakast at any time of day. Country fried steak & gravy, eggs, fried apples, biscuits and grits. for somewhere around $7.50. ItI'm always pretty satisfied with it.
Supermarkets: New lines of generics at Shoppers & Giant
I haven't tried any of the new Giant products, but as a Giant shopper who hasn't been happy about a lot lately, I found the return to "generic" generics overwhelmingly depressing. Most offensive...the Guaranteed Value Imitation Processed Cheese. Not even real processed cheese!
Best lunch choice on Kent Island
I'd agree with the other posts. For a nicer lunch with a large group, the Narrows is a great choice, especially the crab cakes cream of crab soup (although not technically on Kent Island). Kentmoor would also be a great choice if you wanted seafood in a more casual setting. I also though I'd mention in this thread given the title, if you ever find your self on Kent Island by yourself needing a quick lunch, Capriotti's sub shop opened there last year and I absolutely love their Phildadelphia-style hoagies.
Down with the mashed. Up with the galette. Heresy or a welcome revolution?
I love the Cook's Country mashed potato casserole recipe for just this reason. It's a pretty good compromise. You can have mashed potatoes (slightly different texture), but it's easy to make ahead and put in the oven when ready.
Pollo Fuego
Well I was relieved to find them open today and pretty crowded as well. I'm not sure if they're now closed on Sundays, but there was no new signage to indicate new hours. The chicken was great today, as was the yuca. And their beans are pretty strong too.
Pollo Fuego
What? That would be heartbreaking. Did they look closed? They are by far my favorite polla a la brasa place in the area.
All Green Market in Glen Burnie
Well, unfortunately I feel like I've seen "temporarily closed" become just closed more often than not. It's ashame they never seemed to draw the large crowds that H-Mart did. While their produce remained great, there was definately a reduction in their selection over time, especially their meat selection.

Trying to find a rare local beer
I would give the Perfect Pour in Columbia a call. Assuming you're driving home, this is a perfect stop right off of 95.
Taquerias in Glen Burnie/AA Co?
Do you mean Lengua? Really? I've always wondered if they had a "secret" menu.
Taquerias in Glen Burnie/AA Co?
I actually liked Mi Pueblo a lot when I finally got there. It's much better for Tex Mex than Plaza Girabaldi down the road. I really like the Al Pastor tacos despite them being nothing like the typical Al Pastor tacos that I'm used to (these were on flour tortillas, and were actually beef in a spicy sauce). Overall, very good for what it is.
Rogue 24 - really odd cancellation policy
I think it actually makes sense based on their model. It's really a reservation only restaurant, so there's no change that a cancelled reservation at the restaurant is filled by a walk-in. The only part that I find odd is the charge for being more than 30 minutes late. If you still arrive, don't you still eat? So then a 100% charge is appropriate, because you're eating. Or after struggling to get to the restaurant for whatever reason (traffic, etc). , probably having a terrible day, are you than turned away and told that you were charged for your meal anyway?
grocery store rotisserie chicken
I can tell you that the Giant chickens are absolutely terrible. High priced for $7.99 (although sometimes discounted) every time I purchase them (I just can't stop thinking that maybe this time they'll be good) I realize it was a mistake. Horribly dried out every time...and I always buy the chicken with the most recent time stamp. I've tried several flavors, and none are any better than another.
Peanut Butter Frosting--recipe request and a question
I had some good success this weekend with the Wilton Peanut Butter Buttercream. It uses shortening, which is a pain and I don't love, but the flavor was great. I would have liked it to make a little more frosting, however, to properly decorate a 9 inch layer cake (but I like to use a lot of frosting).

Sam's on the Waterfront in Annapolis?
It's not on the water, but Level actually lists which dishes are gluten free right on the menu. Hell Point Seafood and O'leary's are both near the water (HP is waterview) and I would think could accomodate you, so you might want to look into them.
Sam's on the Waterfront in Annapolis?
I think it needs to be stressed that Annapolis is not a SERIOUS restaurant town. In fact, depending on what you're looking for, if you're looking for a 3-4 star large city restaurant, you're just not going to find it, waterfront or otherwise. It's been a few years since I've been to Sam's, and it's good...for Annapolis. As is O'Leary's. Some of the dishes at Level (small plates) are good and creative, but it's very casual and skews young for SERIOUS diners. I'd avoid Harry's Brown's, Aquaterra and the other dated restaurants. I haven't been to Hell Point Seafood yet, but have heard mixed things. But again, not will meet the standards that it seems like you have set.
Win $2000 for your best recipe using beer!
Yeah, it's pretty clear that people aren't actually making these recipes.

Fresh old-fashioned ice cream with no stabilizers
Broom's Bloom was my first thought too, but specifically mentioned in the question for not meeting the criteria.

I feel a little odd now having entered as well. It's clear that people are not actually cooking these recipes. And it's clear that many people didn't actually develop an original recipe. My favorite is the recipe that was for a Guiness float despite it being a Blue Moon contest. "No subsitutes please" it declared about the Guiness. After getting over 40 votes, using Guiness (not elibile by the rules) the recipe was changed to a Blue Moon float and now declares Blue moon (no substitutes please). So what happens to the votes made before that substantial recipe change?
Annapolis lunch wagons ?
Unfortunately the barbecue truck that used to be at the Knights of Columbus on Ritchie Hwy hasn't been there in some time. Corky's is behind the Clement's Hardware, but I agree that I've had some disappointing meals from there. The barbecue never tasted very smoky, and their fried foods have always been undercooked (pale fries) and underseasoned. I don't know if things there have improved.
