Best meal I ever ate:

The best is waiting to happen. As a native Texan, I've had lots of "greats" around the world, but "Q" at Cooper's, in the HIll Country, or dinner at Fonda San Miguel (Austin), comes to mind as coming close.

My current drink of choice:

Laphroaig or "Leapfrog"

I really wish I could:

Be a moderator. Eat and have sex while driving the M3... Neither's going to happen. Have a Caymen and keep the M3...

My "Go-to" dinner party dish:

Veal Shanks-Osso Bucco, BBQ pork ribs, chili

My favorite comfort food:

vinegar and sea salt potato chips or freshly made seasoned popcorn, Red Hot Blue Chips with my homemade salsa fresca.

My top 5 favorite restaurants:

Locally: Union League Cafe (New Haven), Bistro Basque, Guadalupe la Poblanita, Crave, Pacifico. Away: Lulu's (Dallas), Fonda San Miguel (Austin), Desposito's (Savannah)

My most tattered cookbooks:

Julia Child's ...anything (I have DVDs of her old shows) Joy o' Cooking, Mark Miller's Coyote Cafe and Fonda San Miguel.
