To name a few that must have ignored those statistics.

Chad Robertson, Chris Bianco, Aaron Franklin, Andy Ricker, April Bloomfield, Zak Pelaccio, David Chang.

Rose's Luxury

Yes

Rose's Luxury

Actually, I find it a anomaly how Roses Luxury has been able to satisfy such a broad customer base. A quick Google search will find far and few people disappointed after going. Truly very rare for any restaurant.

I should also note. I also wish I did not have to wait in line as I am 100% disabled with severe heart disease and multiple sclerosis. So I won't allow myself to be discouraged by waiting for something I enjoy, because after all. Soon I won't have the option.

Rose's Luxury

A restaurants philosophy should be the same as any other business. To be successful and make a profit. It appears to me that to this point they have succeeded.

I have been three times since June. And not only do I not mind waiting, I also don't mind the 400 mile drive.

To each their own.

Day 2 San Francisco Reviews - Thorough Bread, Knead, St. Francis Fountain, Mozzeria, Chile Pies, Saison

Even unknowingly? People praise Achatz's black truffle explosion ravioli far more then a simple carrot pulled out the dirt. I doubt the average customer thinks twice about the prep evolved in its making. They like it, or not.

La Ciccia "call back tonight or else" voicemail - crossing the line or appropriate?

Dare I say, in the restaurant industry, those who don't call to cancel and no shows are no less then a "business emergency." Reasonable policy in my opinion.

Benu / Crenn / Coi / Saison [San Francisco]

Simply my two cents. Because even the Michelin Man is subjective.

Rose's Luxury

What does a quick Google search of Little Serow, Franklin Barbecue, Pizzeria Bianco, Momofuku Ssäm Bar etc etc prove? They are doing a booming business and each customers interpretation of their policies are highly subjective.

Rose's Luxury

Only if you wish to book your reservation far in advance, such as Komi. Supply and demand.

Some of Chicago's best restaurant

While the burger at Au Cheval may be the best I've ever had. The roasted bone marrow with beef cheek marmalade stopped all conversation at the table. Jaw dropping good!

May I also suggest Nightwood. I sat at the kitchen counter with family and we practically sampled all of the menu. Best meal I had this year.

how's the gai tod (new finishing course) at Little Serow?

Thank you for the update! Will be visiting Little Serow soon and had my heart set on the ribs. Glad to hear the gai tod did not disappoint.

Reservations for Schwa?

I think fairly recent menu can be seen linked below. I would say leaning toward whites but bring what you enjoy.

Have a great time and enjoy!

Reservations for Schwa?

Nothing written in stone on what to bring in my opinion. Just a few examples on what I have in the past. Fra' Mani, 15 year old cheddar from local dairy in my area, good beer, champagne, staff meal from Birrieria Zaragoza, Build A Bears. "Think I may have been the first on that last one" LOL

Also my thoughts on getting "treats". Michael is a very unique rare individual and a excellent judge of character in people. You can believe any acts of generosity from the kitchen is because he likes you, and not because you brought a bottle of Jameson. They have more Jameson then they could ever possibly drink.

Roberta's Tasting Menu tonight, June 6

Great to hear! Going next week to celebrate a special occasion. Though I know its apples and oranges it was a toss up between Blanca and Schwa. Hoping I made the right choice as I so love Schwa.

Schwa phones disconnected?

Try toward end of week. Guessing it will be back in service.

Only my assumption. But if I had to guess at the moment. Beard Awards!

What day of the week did Schwa cancel on you?

I am so envious! Wish I could have been there and would have if not a 1000 miles away. Great Chef and even better human being!

What day of the week did Schwa cancel on you?

Wednesday. I noticed recently those looking for a closing pattern. Take this for what it is worth but there is none! Schwa may close on Saturday as much as on Wednesday.

Toloache--Can I bring a well-behaved seven year old there?

If your daughter is well behaved that is all that matters. I would not be concerned if others raise their eyebrows and are annoyed by her presence. There always will be those who will complain about something and we have no control of issues others may have.

Enjoy Toloache with your family!

Alinea or Next?

You won't get no argument from me. I have no doubt Achatz is one that only comes along once in a generation. Though I believe when choosing the very number 1 in practically anything it's highly subjective and a very slippery slope. For example, picking the top half dozen that rise above the rest would be a much easier call if I had to pick.

Alinea or Next?

When discussing the "best" there will always be controversial views. Its far to subjective in my opinion. No doubt Alinea earned its place in any best of list. Though I know more then a few experience diners who would argue it being the best. Manresa for example is high on many peoples list. Not to mention the French Laundry and Per Se to some, Saison is getting much praise lately along with Town House and Roberta's tasting menu.

What I find more important then anything is consistency. I tend to value the opinion of those diners that have visited these restaurants more then once or numerous occasions. Visiting once offers only a snapshot in my book. Restaurants are run by people with all mankind's frailties. What may be considered the best one day may fall short the next. People make mistakes and errors occur.

I never assumed it was nothing more then turning the page of their reservation book.

They did each time I made a reservation. Though yesterday they said my number is on record. Hoping that's a good sign. LOL

They are open and suspect they will call to confirm. Though if myself I would continue trying to be on the safe side.

No doubt I can understand the frustration. Been there myself.

I refuse to speculate though. Plumbing problems and celebrities getting special treatment I can't verify one way or another. Air Conditioner on the other hand I can verify as legit.

Roberta's: No country for old men

David Kinch sugar coats nothing. I have no doubt he meant it if he said it. I really got to get to Roberta's, even more so now.
