On the West Coast: a really good sourdough bread, toasted and slathered with butter. On the East Coast: A bialy treated the same way.
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
In New York: Alta (Greenwich Village), Kuma Inn & Inoteca (LES), Balthazar (for breakfast). But my all time fave is Pho 84 in Oakland, CA.
