Lavender cooking?

I've recently discovered lavender in cooking, and am really enjoying it in a spice blend with various herbs (thyme, rosemary, sage), lemon, garlic and onion powders and sea salt and pepper rubbed onto leg of lamb and bbq. Absolutely devine!

Lunch in South Beach

Will be traveling through Miami in the next couple months and am looking for a good recommendation on where to have lunch along South Beach that has a good view of the beach/street life and great food. Can't decide on whether to focus on seafood, cuban or what, so open to any suggestion.

Thanks!

American style cupcakes in London (central)

There's a little bakery off of Tottenham Court Road called Penton and Bryne, and as a fellow american ex-pat I can vouch for these littler beauties. The shop is actually located inside, and inbetween the Habitat and Heals almost across from Goodge St station. Highly recommended!

lentil recipes

Love lentils, don't have the recipes at hand, but some that are sure winners - dahl, lentil soup, and my fave (which is sto easy to make) is warm lentil salad with roasted butternut squash, roasted red peppers and feta - fresh flat leaf parsley is essential here! As well, lentils go really well with bacon, so try another warm salad with crispy bacon, carmelised shallots and lemon vinagrette.

hope that helps!

UK pizza chains - best of the bunch?

It's not a massive chain, but there's about 4 or 5 in London - Basilico. The pizza is fantastic, real mozzarella, sublte yet tasty sauce, thin, bubbly crust.. it's what all good pizzas are meant to be and if you're fortunate enough to be near one (Clapham Junction, Fulhum, etc.) they'll deliver. They've got a website, I think it's literally www.basilico.co.uk. Enjoy!!

User name

Cheers, I looked through FAQs but apparently missed that one, thanks for your help!

User name

I would like to change my username, is there a way to do that without having to cancel and recreate a new account.

I just want to use one a bit more festive - like foodiefanatic or something in that thread..

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

All the best,

Corrine

Homemade Creamy Cherry Frosting

I only don't want to use maraschino juice because they somewhat freak me out - they stay good forever! ;) I'm attempting to replecate a Betty Crocker cherry frosting I used to use, that they don't sell over here in the UK.

Loads of great ideas though!

Homemade Creamy Cherry Frosting

I was hoping that maybe someone would know how to make a creamy cherry frosting for sugar cookies, that does not intail using maraschino juice, or leaving big chunks of cherries in the frosting itself.

Trying to get together some cute cookies for Valentines day, appreciate any help!

Breakfast in London

I have to agree with everyone, the breakfast scene is a little lacklustre in London, but I have dug up some places - predominately brunch, but breakfasty none the less.

Harlem on Westbourne Grove is a great bit of NYC Americana, the pancakes are great and the Coney Island Hot Dog is to die for!

Intercontinental Hotel on Park Lane, yes a smide up market, but great proper grazing style brunch, and steep at £39, but not so bad as all drinks are included (champagne, bloody marys and gorgeous iced tea martinis).

Lastly, Mestizo, one of the only reputable Mexican restaurants in London have started serving brunch - a bit of a twist, and I haven't tried it, but definitely worth mentioning.
