Best NY Jewish Deli

I have never had the liver, but the pastrami is excellent.

Best NY Jewish Deli

I second Katz's. It's definitely the most authentic. The sandwiches are massive but good and no frills - just bread and meat. Old school. And, there is a sign on one of the tables that says "This is where Harry met Sally" from the famous scene in that movie.

Please tell me about Pret a Manger for lunch

Perfect place to go for what you are looking for - and at that time on Saturday, tables shouldn't be a problem. I agree with the poster who said to go to the one on 6th - it's two blocks from Radio City and large. And I think the sandwiches are quite tasty. Enjoy!

Has anyone eaten at the one in the Time Warner Center? Do you recommend it? If not, what do you think is better in the area? Thanks!

Good food for kids?

I need a place for parents and kids (party of 7) that will be fun for the kids but still good food. They are staying near Grand Central, but we could go a little further away. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Great French Restaurant?

Flea Market Cafe is on Avenue A, near 9th Street I believe. It is very reasonable and very French bistro like. There are actual French peple who work there...meaning that sometimes the service is French. But the food is on the mark -- the basic French bistro stock and a good wine list.

please suggest a downtown (34th st-14th st) rest?

I second Crispo. Hands down.

Danal

Does anyone know where this place moved to and if it is open yet?

Big family dinner w/ kids day after Thanksgiving?

You might try La Petite Abeille -- there are a couple of them, not too adventurous, but definitely New York, and there are always a ton of kids, especially at the one on 20th Street

birthday brunch/lunch for a group in the vicinity of 6th Ave and Spring...

Try Spring Natural at Spring St. and Lafayette

Best Wine Bar

Wine Bar on 2nd Ave between 3rd and 4th or Peasant on Elizabeth Street

saturday brunch

Try Danal on 10th Street between 3rd and 4th. It is very cozy -- has a grandmother's house type feel. Food is good and reasonably priced.

12th and 6th area -- Friend coming to town

I have an old friend coming to town and I want to take her to dinner somewhere nice but not super expensive in the west village -- recommendations?
