Charleston & Kiawah... Am I on the right track?
In case you haven't gone yet, please don't go to Jestines. You'll wait for hours and the food isn't that great. try berthas at 2332 meeting st rd (it's the kinda place you'll look at and not want to go inside but it's great food. Go during daylight hours if you know what I mean). Another option is gullah cuisine in hwy17 on mt. pleasant also very good food and a little bit nicer building.
provisions in Charleston / Mount Pleasant?
The recomendations you got so far are good. don't bother with caviar and bannanas or teds though unless you'll already be downtown. Try NY butchershop on coleman like sue said. The markets are always a good choice, and go to mt. pleasant seafood on shem creek or one of the others on the creek for good seafood.
Charleston, SC, burger assessments
First of all, you need to stop going to some of these horrible restaurants. Listen to what some of the other people said. You have to try these places. Poes, melvins, moes on rutledge not downtown, Genes in w. ashley, Jacks Cafe on george st (not high quality but the best griddle cooked burger in town), Samos Taverna (lamb burger), Your place in mt. P. this may have closed.
If you know all you want is a gourmet fresh ground burger (which isn't the best in my opinion) then the only ones worth trying are Poes. Samos, and sesame (which I don't recommend). have fun
Wedding reception and caterer in richmond

24 hours in Charleston, S.C.
I would definitely choose SNOB over coast. Coast is decent just not that good in my opinion. Can be a fun bar though. I like the bar atmosphere by coast better but they are only 10 minutes at most apart. I like the bars that charlestonchow suggested but AC's is much different than the rest, what kind of place are you looking for?
in reponse to croutonpiggy yes basil would fit the bill for a place under 20 and the food is great. Coast I believe is also similar in mid teens but I can't comment on SNOB but I think it is about the same possibly a tad more? Good Luck. By the way at all 3 there is almost definitely something over 20 but for the most part they fit the bill.
Jestine's Kitchen in Charleston?
This place was best right when it opened about 8 years ago now I feel it is mainly just a tourist trap. for real soul food try Ledy's on savannah hwy or berthas? on upper meeting st extention. good luck!
Bar B Que in Charleston
If you are really stuck in only downtown then there aren't too many possibilities. Like was already mentioned, Jim 'n Nicks and sticky fingers are the only two. Of the two I would def go to Jim 'n Nicks. They have very good food but I wouldn't really call it a LOCAL BBQ place. I mean it is local and it is BBQ but it isn't both, if you know what I mean.
The places I would recommend if you have the time are Bessingers and Momma Browns. Bessingers actually started in columbia and has great BBQ and sides and is more a of a local bbq place and is about 10 minutes from downtown.
Momma Browns is definitely a local bbq place and has great!!! sides with pretty good bbq. Last time I was there they were still only serving vinegar based bbq though so if you don't like that then maybe you won't want to go (maybe somebody can chime in if that has changed).
Good luck, hope this helps.
[Charleston, SC]
well if you really want top-of-the-line then here you go.
I can't really give you a place by place review as I haven't been to some in quite a while, but I know they are still good as friends and family members have gone and keep telling me how good they are.
Oak- steak restaurant on broad street
Penninsula Grill- Great food and they have a website!
Grill225-Never been myself but I only hear great things. They have a website also, and they are the only place in town that serves 100% USDA Prime steak
Cypress, Fig, Slightly North Of Broad-great place for lunch, are all located within viewing distance of each other on East Bay st and all have great food check out their menus and pick for yourself. There are plenty more let me know if you would like more suggestions I'll just have to think a little harder, these aren't normally my types of restaurants just because they are quite expensive. Good Luck.
Wedding reception and caterer in richmond
Hey everyone,
Sorry to make my first post a plea for help, but I really need some. I am getting married in richmond VA next summer and I am having trouble figuring out what caterers to talk to and also what location to use( I am not from the area). If anyone knows of some good caterers in that area or a good place to have the reception itself please let me know. If you know both, then that is even better!!! haha. Here is a brief list of the people and places that have popped up in my search so far.
