CHEF'S TABLE RECOMMENDATIONS IN NYC?
I enjoyed the Chef's table at Barbuto several times. Good vibe, delicious food and not stuffy or ridiculously expensive.

Would love your suggestions! We are staying just off the Magnificent Mile & will have a car.
I would like to try one of Bayless' restos but keep reading mixed reviews, advice?. Also, have Hot Doug's on the list. Looking for a few more recs for lunch & dinner and a great breakfast place.
I'm pregnant, so sadly no sushi, open to all other cuisines. Though would like to stay away from high end italian or steakhouses.
Thanks in advance!

DigitalPop- I didn't think it was expensive at all nor did I leave hungry. I have no problem paying a little extra in any case for quality ingredients.

Seeking trendy place with delicious food for a group in Edmonton.
Am open to all types of cuisines, excellent food and I will try. Though am trying to steer clear of steakhouses. Location isn't a problem either.
Are there any tapas or "sharing" type places?
Seeking trendy place with delicious food for a group in Edmonton.
Will be in town from NY visiting friends & am looking for a cool place with good food that works well with a group of 10-12. Any suggestions...please don't say Earl's or Joey's!
Casual dinner for two near UN?
There are some good Japanese choices---Sakagura, Sushi Yasuda (though Yasuda might be close to your price range).
Also recommend Convivio.
dinner near south st seaport?
I have to say am not a fan at all of Carmines. Depending on what you feel like--japanase - suteishi, italian either acqua, barbarini or il brigante. Latin checkout Onda.

Totally agree---it didn't taste as good as Adrienne's!

I have--good margaritas! Tried the tacos which were good and on another visit a po boy. It was a bit too much bread for me. The place is a good fit for the space. Relaxed, inexpensive food and drinks.
Have you been to Sho in the Setai?

i'm so bummed I blanked on Con Majo...and instead went to El Rey del Gamba out of sheer hunger :(

Some do, but in my opinion, the ones that do tend to be less authentic. Try sitting at the tapas bar, point out what you like and most people tend to be speak English. Neither of us are fluent in Spanish and had no problems.
BARCELONA
Try Cal Pep, it's near where you're staying. I did try Quimet y Quimet in Poble Sec. It was very good, beware its a tiny space, standing room--no seats.
I enjoyed Cerverceria Catalana! Went to Inopia on a Tuesday around 8pm and it was closed :-( Really had wanted to eat there!
Best of Barcelona Food 2009
Highly recommend trying Cerveceria Catalana, Cal Pep & Inopia.
Others which were recommended to me but that I didn't have time for were: Comerc 24, Paco Meralgo.
