Recommendations for Dar es Salaam and Stone Town (Zanzibar) Restaurants?
Hello,
My husband and I are traveling to Tanzania and are looking for recommendations for fun, authentic places to eat.
First, we have one night in Dar es Salaam (before we leave for a short safari), and I'd love a recommendation for a lively, authentic place to eat. I'm not looking for anything fancy, but rather something fun, relaxing, and that will give us a good taste of Tanzanian culture.
Secondly, we're going to have one day/night in Stone Town (after spending a few nights on the northern part of the island to enjoy the beaches.) Can anyone recommend a nice place for dinner and a casual/fun lunch place? For the lunch, we're looking for some authentic Zanzibari food. For the dinner, something a bit fancy or upscale would be great (but still casual and fun...) I've heard about the rooftop restaurant at 236 Hurumzi but have heard mixed reviews. Is the view worth it even if the food is not? Is there something similar to this place with more reliable service? I love the idea of sitting on the cushions/floor for a meal, so anything along those lines would be great.
Many thanks!!

Has anyone eaten here? Is it worth the price, considering the beautiful view? I can't seem to find any reviews online.
Thanks!

Please recommend Cape Town restaurant for Christmas dinner
Does anyone know of a nice, fancy and delicious restaurant in Cape Town that is open for Christmas dinner? Are restaurants typically open on Christmas night?
Thanks for your help!
