With all due respect I have to seriously question anything you say from here on out- "unimpressive, often tacky, and sometimes disturbingly bizarre" desserts at MGFD?
Is that a joke?
Eight Hour Layover at Miami Int'l Airport - Will Cab For Good Food
Sounds like you are leaning towards the Beach option (good option) but if you decide to stay on the mainland, closer to the airport, you might want to consider El Palacio de los Jugos on flagler and 57th avenue. You will get your Cuban food fix and this place is uniquely Miami. Not far from either the airport or Coral Gables

Strongly reco BLT Steak for lunch. I like BBQ beach as well but havent been in a few months

I have been to the 100 Montaditos in Sevilla a couple years ago. I remember it being both good and cheap. All the sandwiches were a euro per, and ice cold beer the same. 100 different kinds (duh). Welcome addition...

Gigi (Midtown Miami)
I stopped by Gigi on Saturday night and agree w/ the above comments, this place is going to be real good! We tried several items, including the melon, chicken skin, roasted corn, drumsticks, pork buns, ribs, blt, and ramen.
The buns were very good, pork topped with crushed peanuts. Good but not as good as Sakaya's.
The pork belly blt was awesome! Thick slice of (braised?) pork belly between two grilled bao opened flat, with lettuce tomato and some good aioli. Unctuous!
Would skip the fried chicken skin (menu does say Grilled which would be 100x better) and drumsticks which were fine but nothing special.
Would definitely get melon (surprisingly good kick!) and corn again (tofu shmear worked well).
Ribs were real tasty but definitely wouldn't call em "Southern Boy" unless you mean Southern(Asian). Ramen was good, thought broth was a little light but when I ate it as leftovers the next day it tasted better so maybe my buds were just fried the night before. Noodles are not home made. I love noodles and if they are serious about the noodle bar thing I'm sure they will start making their own eventually.
LOVE that they are open late, this will be THE after hours food spot on this side of town.
Be back soon.
Small Gripe: Why is it that most (not all, but many) Miami menus seem so heavy in August?
You wouldn't be asking this question if you had those veal short ribs... amazing
Best Jamaican Patty in Miami (and/or Broward)
Sonia's are great, haven't had the others though.
TOP BURGERS IN FLA
The quality of the meat in the burger at Sakaya is excellent. Hand formed angus patty i believe. Certainly not an issue with quality.
Yelp Eats Miami
I also thought the brisket was bad. However the andouille sliders were pretty good and both baby backs and st Louis ribs were excellent! Mixed bag I guess
Looking for recommendations in the Aventura area.
Ate there last week- the tarte flambee and duckfat potatoes were really good.
OP might like Miami Juice for healthy grub b/l/d. Second Bourbonsteak and Timo for nicer dinners in the area.

Sakaya Kitchen's Angus Bulgogi Burger is best nontraditional burger in Miami
New or Coming to Miami / Dade - 2010 Edition
I read somewhere (cant remember where) that in light of their inclusion on the top 100 list they are speeding up their opening down here... I think this summer?
Sakaya Kitchen - Midtown Miami
Sakaya remains one of my favorite new spots to open in recent months. I need it weekly. Had the Angus Bulgogi Burger, korean tater tots, and Bo Ssam on my last visit. The burger is a well seasoned patty topped with roasted pork butt, cheese, tots, and spicy mayo. It is ABSURDLY GOOD! Instant top 5 burger in MIA. The tater tots are addictive, and the Bo Ssam was delicious. It came with several chunks of pork, fried oysters, jasmine rice, pickles, kim chee, and bibb lettuce to wrap it up in.
Also highly recommend the Dim Ssam Sundays at Sakaya. This is a good opportunity to try lots of different dishes as they offer some smaller portions. Just make sure you get the Spicy Korean Chicken Wings w/ Scallion Waffles. You will thank me later!

Whoops shoulda googled that one... It just so fell into line with the rest of the mistakes i fooled myself! I was thinking "how do you get from heirloom to air line!!?!"
I just hope those air line breasts are not tight

Wow did anyone take a look at this OLA menu? This looks amazing... lmao!! I really hope the "chicken tights" served with the Arroz Imperial are edible. My question is, what in the world is "pan seared air line chicken breast"?
I hope the "sweet chilly aioli" is indeed served chilled with the plantain crusted Mahi...
I hope they put more effort into cooking their food!
PS Does anyone know what "clove wand water" is?

Peruvian resto -Downtown Miami
Francesco's is definitely worth going to... it is delicious! The ceviches, conchas a la parmesana, seared tuna app, causas, and risottos are all amazing. Try the risotto a la huincaina as a side with your meal, it is awesome. Squid ink risotto there is also real popular.
