Giant Frosted Gingerbread Cookies from LA Farmer's Market

Does anyone remember the giant frosted gingerbread cookies they used to have at the LA Farmer's Market in probably the 1970s/early 80s? They were shrink-wrapped in plastic and I want to say they were at least 6" high. I have no idea why I can't stop thinking about these - would love to find them again if they exist...

Private Party - near Hyde Park

Hi, I'm trying to plan a rehearsal dinner for about 20-30 people (with kids) near U of C in Hyde Park a la the rehearsal dinner in "Rachel Getting Married" but without the crazy sister. I'd love a space where I could bring in my own food/drinks or a restaurant with a private room. It will be a Friday night in October. Any thoughts would be much appreciated! I've been looking into Medici, Chant, La Petite Folie, Bar Louie...

Romantic near Loop/Green Line

Hi, the hot dude is flying in this weekend and I'd like to go for a romantic dinner, preferably within walking distance of green line stop in the Loop. I was thinking Vivere, or Atwood Cafe. Does anyone have any bright ideas? Thanks so much!

Anyone been to Italian Village lately?

Wondering if anyone's been to Italian Village lately. I remember that it was kind of kitschy romantic, but don't want to go if the food is just awful. Thoughts?

Most Romantic Restaurant in Chicago Area

Hello all, looking for a really romantic restaurant in the Chicago area to bring my not-from-Chicago boyfriend in two weeks. Could be any area, any type of food, any price range -- what restaurant does everyone think is best to show off our city and have a long, intimate dinner???

Late night romantic dining in Seattle?

Hello, don't live in Seattle but visit my BF there a lot...like this weekend. Looking for good late night dining options. He lives near Bitter Lake (don't know the name of the neighborhood) but we could go anywhere. Thoughts?

Great Restaurant That Caters - Westside/Pac Pal

Hi, throwing myself a 40th birthday party in the Palisades next month and need to find a great (not too expensive!) place that will cater for about 60 people -- adults and kids. It's right after Thanksgiving and I don't want to have an orgy of food, but was thinking Italian, Mexican, or ? I'm living in Chicago and am not up on all the local places. Got a quote from Maria's Italian Kitchen -- have also contacted Kay and Dave's, Jacopo's, Beech Street, and Pinocchio. Anyone have any great ideas?
