Any ideas on where I can get an affordable dairy bday cake in Manhattan or that will deliver in Manhattan?
Tried My Most Favorite, which is crazy expensive. Fairway has not answered my millions of calls. What am I forgetting? Would like to get it from a place with a legit hashgacha, so no Crumbs or anything like that. Thanks!

sabra tuna discontinued
sad day for jews everywhere. official word from sabra headquarters is that they discontinued the tuna in all sizes to make room for newer products.

want to just follow up and say thanks for the good suggestions. wound up getting the photo cake from supersol on the uws. they did a great job, only needed a couple days to order, and photo was given by email. also turned out to be much cheaper than other places.
Restaurant for Sheva Berachos
would definitely recommend that you avoid mr broadway. they're completely unorganized when it comes to sheva brachos. i made one there recently and they assigned one waitress to 25 ppl -- service was slow, food was mediocre, they were not prepared with any of the items we discussed beforehand for the set menu. you're better off with any of the other suggestions.

New kosher subway -- gan eden c'kedem
Today I celebrated with many kosher wall-streeters by toasting Jared with a one-hundred percent rabbinically approved subway sub. It was delicious. The line was long but moved quickly. I want to give my highest recommendation to this newest addition to the kosher-but-tastes-oh-so-treifalicious family of restaurants.

why doesn't anyone ever talk about this hole-in-the-wall village diner? i've only been there once but already i like it, probably cause it's cut from the same cloth as viva -- cheap dairy food, little ambience, and deliciously questionable hashgacha.

Why do people like this place so much? Last night every single table was full. The food was bland and cold and the service was worse than normal, even for a kosher place. After we ordered nothing but red wine all evening, the waitress shows up with white wine and tries to convince us that's what we asked for. The entire staff had their coats on and were ready to shut down the place but neglected to bring us our check. Should have just left...

JII is definitely one of the best of the worst. A very good option -- if you consider it kosher -- is Viva.
fifty dollars?
My boss has allotted $50 a person (tax, tip, and drinks included) for a dinner we are hosting to recruit a few grad students to the company. Any ideas? We need to stay within the tight budget and still have a great dinner, anywhere in Manhattan. Thanks.
