aron's kissena farms
Went there today. The sale stuff was priced great, but the rest of the stuff was only so-so. Same as Brach's and Supersol. But they have everything! and more! The problem was the place was beyond mobbed. One hour and 45 minutes on line to check out!
UES brunch?
I need a place that's open by 10/10:30 AM, takes reservations, won't break the bank, and is in the area of the east 60's. Any suggestions?
birthday cake?
Where is the best place in Manhattan to order a fabulous birthday cake? It can (and preferable should) be dairy. Thanks
Best cholov yisroel cheeses?
Go to Fairway - they have kosher CY cheeses from around the world - England, Spain, Italy, etc.
Kosher/kosher style restaurants in northern NJ
I like Mabat in Teaneck for steak and Smokey Joe's for BBQ
Has anyone tried Palomino in Old Greenwich, CT?
Ate at Palomino a few weeks ago and , though expensive, it was very good and the service was very nice.
KOSHER IN MONTREAL/MONT TREMBLANT
The kosher restaurants are mostly Morrocan style, but there is kosher sushi in Montreal now. As for supermarkets, check out the IGA at the Cavendish Mall in Cote St. Luc - it's got everything you could hope for, kosherwise.
Favorite Desserts at "My Most Favorite Food" in NYC?
Its a shame about My Most Favorite Food. The desserts are very good, but as a restaurant, it stinks and the service is horrendous.
PUCCINI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We ate at Puccini a few weeks ago. Just walking by and saw such low prices for the area that we had to try it. We didn't know it was BYOB, so we settled for just water. I ordered the salad with warm goat cheese. It was HUGE. Enough for a dinner on it's own. In the meantime, a very nice man dining on his own offered us the rest of his bottle of wine. The wait staff couldn't have been nicer and rushed over with glasses for us. The pastas were large portions and very good. The best I've ever eaten?...well no, but for under $10, it was very very good. We will definitely become regulars at this place.
Kosher Miso Paste and Cellophane Noodles?
I went to Levana's cooking class and she told us that for rice noodles, no hechsher was required.
Midtown Manhattan (I think) Restaurant Recommendations?
Stay away from Wolf and Lamb, I actually had spoiled vegetables served to me there. I agree that Colbeh and Olympic Pita are much better choices.
Kosher Cheese Tasting
Try Fairway in NYC. A great selection of kosher cheeses from around the world
Kosher in East Village and Gourmet in NYC
I've had so many bad experiences at Prime Grill, mostly bad service, I will not go back
Kosher in East Village and Gourmet in NYC
For a formal dinner, try La Carne Grill. The food is very good and - very unusual for a kosher restaurant - the service was very good too.
kosher anywhere near Westport? [moved from Tristate board]
There is a kosher dairy restaurant that has been getting good reviews in Stamford inside the JCC
nargila
We were there on Sunday night. I made a reservation. When we got there, they said they don't take reservations for 2 people (but they did seat us). In a nutshell:
Service - horrendous.
Food - room temperature at best.
French fries - soggy
