Next Iron Chef Episode 4
This was BY FAR the best episode yet. I was surprised that Sanchez left before Cosentino, only because he seemed much more consistent. Cosentino is pretty obnoxious. I wish we had more of the judge's critiques because sometimes the way they edit it, it just seems ridiculously snarky. I know they do this for ratings, but it would be nice if we could see something other than Ruhlman making that awful face when he eats something. I know there had to be something in there that he liked. Also, I really really like Alton Brown, but does anyone else think that he's been portrayed as kind of a smarmy jerk? I mean he told Cosentino that his food was something like "barely passable" or some other such foolishness. It just seems that in order for the drama to be there, they are showing all of his arrogance and none of his humor.
Go Michael Symon!!!!!!!!
Best and Worst Cooking Shows
Okay, let's start with worst, there are more of them
1. Essence of Emeril - Seriously, this show is worse than watching paint dry. Not only does he sould like he does nothing but read off the teleprompter, you can tell that if he's not yelling BAM, he's lost.
2. Emeril Live - Just too overplayed. I'm sick of all things Emeril
3. 30 Minute Meals - they might be quick, but there are WAY too many ingredients and I can only hear her tell me what EVOO means so many times before I lose it.
4. Tyler's Ultimate - Just all around over complicated smugness
5. Anything with Sara Moulton - this is actually unfortunate because she is so so so talented, but she is extrememly boring. There is just a monotone quality to her show that makes me crazy.
6. Semi-homemade - Yuck. That's all I have to say about that one
Best
1. Good Eats - entertaining way to learn about all kinds of stuff - I like all of his shows, actually.
2. Anything with Bobby Flay (except throwdown)
3. Nigella Express, Nigella Feasts
4. I miss the Two Fat Ladies making bubble and squeak
5. Barefoot Contessa - simple and delicious
6. I'm 50/50 with Giada. Her food is great, I'm just tired of looking at her cleavage and her teeth.
7. I am actually pleasantly surprised by the NFNS newbie, Amy Finley. Her show has potential. It needs a little work, but it could be really great.
8. The Original Iron Chef

Ina's husband Jeffery is the dean of the School of business at Harvard. He is ridiculously smart. He also lives in the city during the week and only comes home on the weekends. The coolest part is that Ina used to work for the government, writing energy policies.
My favorite fun food blog
I found a really fun food blog a couple of months ago, and while it's not complicated food, I've tried almost every recipe and they are fantastic. The layout reminds me of Ina Garten, but funnier. Anyway, Ree, the blogger also has a non food blog. Both are really entertaining. Check them out and let me know what you think.

Anyone else LOVE Nigella?
I just have to say, when Nigella Lawson came back to FN this year with her "new" show. I was so very excited. AND now that she has yet another one (Nigella "express" or Pronto?) something like that, I'm doubly excited. I absolutely love watching her cook. She is a real person, cooking real food, and I find that her descriptions just make me hungry. I have all of her cookbooks, and even though most of her recipes are decidedly "english", they are so good. It is just so refreshing not to see tons of cleavage and stick thin perfect people cooking food that you know they never eat. She really seems to enjoy her food. I LOVE IT
Next Iron Chef episode 3 - 10/21/07- Resourcefulness
I finished watching it not too long ago. I am so happy that Symon and Besh are still in it. Cosentino, not so much, only because I'm not so impressed with him just yet, but he's absolutely better than Sanchez. Sanchez just seems to have a terrible attitude about the whole thing. Granted, I'm sure a large portion of it is editing, but still, he just seems like a spoiled brat. He's always mad about something. I hate that Kaysen left, but since he is so very young, he is going to only grow from here. I think in a couple of years, he's going to be a force to be reckoned with. All in all, good show!!
