Nice Restaurant in or around Birmingham and/or Suburban Detroit

My boss and his wife have an 18 month old son and they rarely get out of the house to enjoy a romantic night! So for Christmas I want to give them a gift certificate to a nice restaurant. My budget is $150 and although I hope it doesn't come to it, I'm sure they wouldn't mind supplementing it if the meal total endsup being a bit more than $150.

They live in Bloomfield Hills, so can anyone suggest a nice restaurant in that area or surrounding area?

Many thanks!!

Just a thank you!

I wanted to say THANKS to everyone who responded to my request for restaurant recommendations. We arrive on Monday for a week in NYC and three of the restaurants we're dining at for dinner are Dylan Prime, Lupa & West Bank Cafe.

Have a great day!

Restaurant near the St. James Theatre?

Okay, I'm sorry to be so vague.

1. We'd prefer any cuisine other than Japanese, French & Italian.

2. We'd like a full meal, but something that we'd be able to finish in time w/out running over to the theatre to catch the show by 8pm.

3. Casual is fine, nothing too fancy.

4. Our budget is around $200-$250 and should include drinks, but maybe not tax and tip? This will be my first time in NYC so if this isn't a realistic figure, I'll more than understand being chided :)

Thanks!

Restaurant near the St. James Theatre?

Hi. I'm looking for a recommendation with respect to a restaurant in the area of the St. James Theatre. We're going to see "The Producers" on Thursday, July 20 and it starts at 8pm. So any recommendations of a great place (no Italian or Japanese) to grab dinner before the show?

Thanks!

Theatre District Restaurant?

Hi, it's me again. I'm looking for one more recommendation with respect to a restaurant in the Theatre District. We're going to see "The Producers" on Thursday, July 20 and it starts at 8pm. So any recommendations of a great place to grab dinner before the show and close enough in proximity so we don't miss the show?

Thanks!

UES or Lupa?

Thanks to everyone I'm going to keep the reservation at Lupa. And to answer Chris Z's question, yes he wants good food. I'm assuming we can always eat lunch on the UES. Thanks again, you guys are great!

UES or Lupa?

I'm coming to NYC for a week in July and one of the nights we want to eat Italian. So thanks to suggestions from this board, I made a reservation at Lupa for July 19. Now my guy tells me he would prefer to eat at an Italian restaurant on the UES since we're already going to spend a considerable amount of time in Greenwich Village. I want to remain firm in my choice of Lupa. It's really THAT good, right?? So I pose this question to all New Yorkers: What would you suggest?? I only get to NYC once every few years so I want this trip and my meals to be memorable.

Thanks in advance!!

Recommendation for Italian in NYC?

I live in Boston and am coming to New York for a week in the middle of July. We already have reservations at Dylan Prime (how is this by the way?) and I would love a recommendation for a high or mid end priced Italian restaurant. Something with an impressive wine list would be an added bonus. Please forgive my naivete as this will be my first visit to New York and I'm unsure of the best location in which to dine. We're staying at the Hudson Hotel but anywhere in Little Italy would be okay too.

Thanks a million!
