Stop and Shop Baked Goods - Some Really Good Finds
Stop N Shop baked goods are damned good! I'll agree on how good their onion rolls are. I like them when they are fresh in the morning.
Do not forget the chocolate croissants. They are fantastic!
Glatt Kosher Kingdom
I had been informed that the Met Fresh supermarket in Brooklyn is being taken over by a Kosher Kingdom within the next month or so.
The address is 1630 East 15th street near Kings Highway. Unfortunately the Met Fresh store did very poorly and was in the red from what I heard.
What's the best diner in Brooklyn?
I believe the diner you are referring to is called the Arch diner. I avoid that one too.
Another diner on Kings Highway which is good, especially for breakfast is the Del Rio Diner. It's on the corner of West 13th and Kings Highway.
Starbucks Closing Hundreds of Stores
What do you expect between them raising thier prices and OVER expanding.

Passover Breakfast Cereals: Getting Even Better
Bob, I could not agree with you more! I was just thinking of that when I came to the kosher forum. I just bought two boxes of the Chocolate Magic cereal from Met Fresh Super Market here in Brooklyn. It will last me till Sunday I think. The product is also from Israel.
Original Pancake House in south Florida?
Hello,
I was wondering if the Original Pancake House in Coral Springs was still opened? I think it may have closed.
I will be in the area in a few weeks and was looking for a good breakfast spot aside from IHOP.
Thanks,
Howard
Kosher Bakery in Brooklyn
Goto Ostrovitsky Bakery on avenue J and 12th street. They are very good.
Best Bay Ridge Italian for dinner?
I vote for Gino's. Nice staff, good food, great value.
New 2nd Ave. Deli - anyone been?
Hello Michael K,
I would tend to think that 2nd Avenue will be more expensive than a place like Sarge's due to being kosher. Kosher meat is quite a bit more expensive to buy.
I'm looking forward to going back to my favorite deli in New York City.
Brooklyn Suggestions. . dinner for one. . .NOT FANCY!!!
I also highly recommend Anthony's Place. It is located on 2110 Avenue X, near East 21st street.
Circa- downtown closing
The Circa on avenue J in Midwood, Brooklyn also closed quite a number of months ago. Too bad they never got their act together.
Wait time for Serendipity 3?
This used to be one of my favorite spots. Looks like they have the same problems as Bubby's.
Seniors Restaurant
I think there was a Seniors around Nostrand avenue near avenue Z about 10 years ago?
Cheesecake Factory
I fully agree with you guys about CF, it's a great place to eat. They have a very large selection to suit most peoples taste.
However, I do not think it is worth the wait. The Cheesecake Factory in Westbury, NY can sometimes have a 90 minute or longer wait. Certainly NOT worth the wait for me.
Brooklyn Boy Comes Back Home For a Visit!
I do not think they will closing Nathans in Coney because I believe the building is a landmark.
If you are looking for good spots in Bensonhurst, I second La Palina and also recommend Ortobello restaurant on 6401 Bay Parkway. Excellent food for a reasonable price. You'll feel like you are in a time warp when you goto this place!
Russian in Brooklyn [Moved from What's My Craving board]
Many of my Russian born friends recommend Tatiana Restaurant in Brighton Beach Brooklyn.

Best possible meal for $20 in Brooklyn?
I highly recommend Anthony's Place on 2110 Avenue X. It is formally called The Pizza Bowl. They have great Italian food for under $20 dollars.
Costco NY/NJ
Hello,
I do not goto the Costco in Brooklyn that much these days because it is too crowded on the weekends. I recommend the one in Lawrence,NY (Five towns). It's not such a far drive. You can also goto the Staten Island one it you do not mind the 9 dollar toll.
Brunch for marathon spectators-Williamsburg
Please say hello to me at mile 11 on South 3rd and Bedford. I will be helping out with my fellow ham radio operators. You won't miss out orange radio operator hats!
There are also a couple of nice cafes on that block!
DUMBO
I went to the Bubby's on Hudson street with some friends a few months ago. The food was quite good. The service was NOT. I sure hope that they cleaned up their act at both their locations. As far as the food is concerned, you will enjoy their cakes, pies and other good desserts.
Best Rugelach in NYC/ Tri State Area...Oy! I give up!
I also recommend Ostovitsky's , they are quite good. Another good bakery for regelach is Lord's bakery (also in Brooklyn) off of Flatbush avenue by the junction.
FH Trader Joe's---Oct. 26th Opening Day !!!
Got there about 5pm today. It was very crowded, but not crazy. They had enough employees to help out too. I noticed that they had a lot of help from seasoned traders who work at other locations on the island. The lines moved very fast too.
Looks like i'll go to this one or the one in Hewlett until we get one in my part of Midwood Brooklyn.
Jewish Deli Recommendation?
I saw Jay and Lloyds mentioned regarding Brooklyn. Being that Brooklyn has been brought to the conversation, I would highly recommend the Mill Basin Deli on 59th street and avenue T. I must agree with the comments about Ben's Deli.
On one of my Sunday drives into Manhattan to do some shopping at B&H Photo, I got a parking spot right near the restaurant around 37th and 7th avenue.
Boy, was I disappointed. Don't think i'll goto that location again. The matzoh ball soup had a large black hair in it (sent that back). And the pastrami and corned beef sandwich was way below par.
Any Kosher Dunkin Donuts Stores in Brooklyn?
There is also a new kosher Dunkin on Kings Highway and east 19th street. This one is a lot cleaner than the other Brooklyn locations.
Good food in Bensonhurst/Ocean Parkway area?
You may also want to check out La Palina which is in walking distrance from you on avenue O. Great Italian place.

There are a few good bakeries. You can try the Italian one on 292 Kings Highway near west 6th and there is a pretty good kosher one called the Cake Center on avenue P near East 2nd street. Their rainbow cookies are really good.
Trader Joe's - Rego Park - Update
Some of you will think I am crazy, but I actually drive to the Trader Joe's usually in Hewlett, LI once or twice a month. Sometimes I hit the one in Oceanside when I visit my friends in Long Beach. I can actually get there faster (about 35 minutes on a weekend morning) than the one on 14th street in Manhattan.
I live in the Midwood area of Brooklyn to boot!
