yummy yummy dumpling - my preferred spot downtown
Just called. (The number on their facebook page doesn't work. Try the one on their website.) They're open from 1 to 9 on Sunday.
*Edited from a previous version. They just called back to say they open at 1, not 11 on Sunday.
Beef and veal cheeks, pork jowls
Sanagan's. No need to look it up. Here it is.

Refurbished & Seconds KitchenAid & Jenn-Air Appliances in the GTA?
Miele also has their own open box outlet. You can see their current inventory list at mieleunboxed.ca
Where do I buy pickled Jalapenos peppers (preferably in BULK) in Toronto?
Wholesale Club is at the corner Rogers and Weston Rd. probably has them, though I'm not speaking from experience. They seem to carry a lot of stuff for foodservice businesses.

ISO - (pink) curing salt
Williams-Sonoma, at least at Yorkdale, sells it as "Curing Salt". Bright pink in a short jar with the rest of the spices. About $12 a pop. so not cheap relative to the others. But possibly more convenient, depending on your proximity to a W-S.
Yiu Wah - Name That Dish
Found them again, long after the demise of Yiu Wah! When Dim Sum King replaced Yiu Wah, the silver needle noodles didn't make a similar comeback. But they were there all along, right under my snoot, at King's Noodle. Look on the dim sum menu for something like, "mixed meat and vegetables with pasta," right at the bottom, near the Singapore Turnip Cakes. That's them. While waiting for the rest of my table to arrive, I recognized the Chinese characters for 'silver' and 'needle' (same as in Japanese) and we were off to the races. Not as much celery flavour as the ones at Yiu Wah, but it's way better than the none I've been eating since it went away.
11 th anniversary
I think Acadia would be a great choice for you; The food is lovely and the service is very good. I can't recommend a dish as they change them all the time, but the apps are great. Get the cornbread! My wife and I had a great time there.
The Little Dog
Stopped by for a steamie a few weekends ago. With the Lester's dog and the slightly mushy bun, it has the foundation of a good recreation. But the slaw/cabbage on top is creamy, which wasn't what I was looking for. I don't know (and probably don't want to know) what the Montreal Pool Room and the places on that stretch of St. Laurent do to their cabbage. Actually, I haven't really thought about it, but it seems like it wouldn't be that hard to replicate.
Chicken livers, organic or natural
I'd give Peter at Sanagan's Meat Locker a call or email. If he doesn't have them on hand, I'm sure he'd be happy to get them for you. Probably for way cheaper than HB.

Piri Piri Grillhouse./ Dupont Street
The Latin is placeholder copy designers insert when the actual copy isn't ready. The site has changed from the last time I visited it and, judging from the # of dead links, it looks like they're still building it.
Haven't been myself, I think a search will turn up some other people's opinions of the place.
Fresh Portugese Sardines
Osler Fish on Osler, just north of Dupont, between Symington and Dundas.
What are they yelling about when you enter Guu!?
Nice! You could go with "Hara hetta!" too.
What are they yelling about when you enter Guu!?
Upon your departure, perhaps, but not when you enter, as it means (approximately) "It was indeed a feast."
Upon arrival, if you want to give them the impression you're from Osaka, a nice casual "Maido!" (my-doh) will do the trick.
Where to find tomatillos fresh or canned in Toronto
Fiesta Farms had them yesterday.

Peameal Sandwich at St Lawrence
Carousel Bakery is definitely the most popular. Or the best-known of the peameal sandwiches. I leave which is the best up the the experts, but it's going to be an incremental difference between them all, as far as I'm concerned.
katz and 2nd Ave Deli do take aways?
Don't get the lean. And don't worry. It's not full of fat. It's full of flavour.
Good Eats on Oakwood
What time do they usually start serving their jerk chicken? Stopped by both tonight on my way home from work, probably around 6:30 and neither had started up yet. I'm new to the neighbourhood and completely un-savvy when it comes to jerk, so I know not of how it works.
Settled for some fried chicken from Spencer's instead. Chicken was very good. Rice and beans and cole slaw were all right. I think the ones at Ackee Tree might be more to my liking.

Bigabaldi's NY-style pizza
Ordered last night and after some mishaps that delayed delivery by quite a while (It happens, I'm not going to get all in a huff about a new place having growing pains.) we received a lovely pie brought to our door by, I'm guessing, the man himself. I can't confirm as he was wearing a hat, however. Full marks for going above and beyond to make things right.
Crispy but not crunchy crust, really great sopressata. The crust had really great flavour. Having just moved days ago from the Junction, it was an excellent contrast to Vesuvio's, whose crust I've always found rather flavourless and underseasoned. In all, a great success. Two days in the area and we've already found our go-to pizza place. I couldn't be happier. It's a very good pizza and a place that seems really dedicated to getting things right. Great combination to have.
Good restaurant with great sticky toffee pudding?
Second Beast. Second the sugar hangover. I hurt a little just remembering it, but it's totally worth it.
Chinese Soup Dumplings aka Xiao Long Bao in Toronto
Went in to Queen's Patisserie today and asked about XLB. The woman working there looked at us like we had three heads. Would've gone downstairs but it wasn't open for lunch.

ISO: Kimchi near Dundas & Keele
The Sweet Potato carries quite expensive, quite non-Korean-appearing jars of kimchi. Haven't tried it for myself, so I have no idea if it's half-decent or not. But it might be worth the extra cost not to have to walk anywhere else.
The only other place I could think of might be the Vietnamese supermarket just past the northeast corner of Runnymede and St. Clair.
CSA`s in gta, any help (communityt supported agriculture)
I've been having a great experience this year with Matchbox Gardens, which I pick up at Trinity Bellwoods. Great quality and variety, super friendly and enthusiastic. Money very well spent.
My sister and I also split a share of a meat CSA from Twin Creeks Farms, which was also great. Really excellent quality.
The only bad CSA experience I've had so far was with a meat CSA from wholeearth farmstudio last year. Very poorly run. Unreliable delivery dates that changed with no warning and very little follow-up communication. And I'm not sure if I ever did get everything I paid for. It was all very higgeldy-piggeldy. Nice product, though. Just not worth the immense hassle.

Where can I get Faygo in Toronto?
Saw a few cans in the variety store at the corner of Dundas W and Mavety in the Junction a couple of weeks ago. Sorry, don't remember the flavours.
Old Bay Seasoning
I've seen it at a number of Sobey's around town, but not at Metro or Loblaws.
best store bought chicken stock?
Somewhat ashamed to say the Rachael Ray chicken stock I've bought at the Pacific/Dundas No Frills is really quite good. Fairly simple ingredients list and a nice flavour, although it might be a little more vegetable-y from some people's preference.
Tajin Mexican Seasoning
I've seen it at the No Frills at Pacific and Dundas as well.

They've got a location on Eglinton just east of Avenue as well.
