Michaels Genuine Brunch

Any reviews on the new Brunch this weekend? Thoughts?

Marco Island this weekend

Marco Walk Shopping Plaza has three great places... Davincis(Italian), Nacho Mamas, and Captain Briens (Seafood/Burgers)..all delicious

Hola, Sra. Martinez - Miami, Design District

Went for a Post Happy Hour snack...circa 9 pm..was prety full inside so we grabbed a 2 top outside...Michelle Bernsteins husband was at the front and as usual was so nice and easy going...we ordered:

******Mushroom croquetas with the some kind of berry dipping sauce ( Croquetas were fresh and crunchy with a hot creamy center) so delic..great combo with the dipping sauce
****Cheese Plate- 3 cheeses (Manchego and a Murcia al Vino were greato, and one blue(Valdeon) too strong for my taste, and each was paired with a sweet compliment quince jam, honey, and fig jelly)
****Mushroom Saute- assortment of mushrooms..dining mate thought they were salty I thought they were perfect..earthy and fun assortment of mushrooms
Patatas Bravas we were excited to taste but they were out of them
Dessert- french toast like with banana figs and maple nut icecream..great combo came out warm..only complaint was not enough bananans for being a banana dessert

Overall solid B+/A- in my book....service was good...food was solid(only complaint is not so many non meat main options)...but in the end it hit the spot!

Need a recommendation for business dinner in Marco Island, FL

3 Nights in Aventura---Dinner Suggestions?

Bourbon Steak -at Turnberry around the Circle right near the mall
Thai House II for Sushi- on 163rd
Oishi Thai(really fresh sushi)- on Biscayne in shopping center with Pauls and Coldstones but Thai House has better prices..Great Miso Cod here though
Ragazzi for Italian -but its located in Sunny Isles
Timo also for Italian located on Sunny Isles(across from Il Mulino)
Il Mulino for Italian -on Collins also considered Sunny Isles (I think)

The Michelle Bernstein Tapas Place

I hope she incorporates more vegetarians dishes. Sounds pretty meaty to me. Excited to see what she has in store for us though.

Da Vincis in Marco Walk shopping plaza is amazing. You wont be disappointed. The food is amazing. The ambience is great. Its true Italians serving Italian food and service is great as well. I think this would be perfect for a business dinner. Captain Brien's Seafood in the same plaza is more relaxed could also be a good option but Da Vincis seems more what you are looking for.

Pacific Time Resurrected

mm went last night..have pretty much only good things to say...yes they offered us there filtered water the waitress said " its green of them". We drank it. was delic...she brought us two bottles only charged us for one...we started with the gnudi w. sheeps milk ricotta, parmigiano grand cru, baby spinach, brown butter..we are kosher so minused out the speck that usually comes with it..other then a little lack of salt..the dish was great the gnudi was fluffy and with the sprinkling of salt..the dish was perfect combo and execution..next we got Grilled Salmon Yaki Wild Salmon tamarind bbq sauce, sake vinaigrette..my sister loved thiss...the fish postion was small but the taste was amazing..the fish was perfectly coooked and the bbq sauce was subtly sweet and paired perfectly with the fish..it sat on top of " the sake vinaigrette" which was vegis cut up tho I dont rememeber which...next came the Sauteed Local Grouper red curry, bananas, coconut water..the coconut curry was subtle i finished it off with a spoon...the curry wasnt to spicy..none of the fish was fishy and probably some of the freshest fish Ive had in Miami(fresher then Talula which I ate at night before last) and the banana was a great combo with the fish(not to smushy not to hard, perfect in my opinion) I also ordered the Farro caramelized cipollini onions, stracchino, oregano..it also needed a little salt..but once it had it, it was great as well. Our server described it as the oldest grain known to man and recomended it..the onions were perfctly pan fried on top and the stachino melts and the farro sits in the melted cheese which in the end made a little poool of cheesy broth that it sat in..loved it..again great combo..didnt have room for dessert...next time..i rated pacific time a solid 8.5 ...also had a glass of White wine from Sardinia..went great with the meal and served at perfect temp...pretty good service...Stephanie was her name..she was knowledgable about the menu and very pleasant

Olives @ The W Hotel - A good thing?

I went a little while back with friends..service wasnt bad...the bread basket(with the most delic onion focacia and crackers) and olive tapenade delic..the sweet raviolis with butternutswuash i beleive were delic..corn raviolis were just ok..the pizza with fig and something also delic..my friends loved the meat dish they ordered..squash blossoms were soso...overall meal was a 7.5..desserts looked amaIZng wish i could have ordered

Osteria Del Teatro-Review

Food was A+. Service A. Prices for food B. Overall solid A-.
Went tonight with my sister..we were a tad late and we called and they held our table without a problem...as we walked in we saw host greeting what sounded like regulars so we were happy to see that..they offered us a table top in the middle of the restaurant and asked if we wanted to wait a couple of mins for a window seat(nice gesture)...we passed..anyway so we were greeted and seated...What gave them the minus -->three people including the host, our server, and the water boy all seperatly asked us if we wanted bottled or tap water(annnoying to be asked three times) we opted for florida tap(delic)...they brought the bread basket that a soft foccacia with onion(my fave), a brown toasted (i think wheat) bread, and a flat white bread toasted..with butter(i would rather olive oil but didnt ask for any)So the waitress started naming the specials(15 to be exact). I opted for the special of the polenta with mushrooms and truffle oil, for my meal the waitress recomended the papardelle with tomatoes and truffle oil. A truffly dinner I know but they both sounded amazing. The polenta came out pretty quickly polenta was soft, porcini truffled mushroom sauce on top was perfect texture and taste and saltines. Loved it. Then the pardelle came. I could have done without the trufffle oil. I was more in a tomatoey moood but the pasta was amazing.(ps odd to see tomato and truffle mixed in pasta, i think) Cooked perfectly al dante and they shaved some fresh parm on top. Again perfect saltines and texture of sauce. I finished every bite. The portions were huge. The host was very interactive throughout the meal. Very funny. They brought over each dessert to show us what it looked like. We were going to veto it but then after seeing the almond basket(which they called a cookie) filled with berries (and a side of whipped cream) we decided to go for it..almond cookie wasnt thats sweet alone and lacked a little flare but the combination was great. So only issue with this place is the fact that the app of polenta was 29 dollers. Papardelle 29 dollers. Dessert 16 dollers. 75 for food alone that doesnt include my wine. I think the specials were a tad steep. The fact that they had truffle oil makes them expens but still I thought for no meat or fish in the meal the prices were a tad high. Especially the fact that app was same price as the pasta. Anyway meal was great. Service great( they included gratuity 18%). I would go back for sure. Host even chased after us to say bye and thankyou. I recomend going. Food was A+. Service A. Prices for food B. Overall solid A-.

Gottino-West Village

Just had a breakfast at Gottino...stopped by last night and the bar was packed with people drinking wine and eating cheese and meat plates..and amazing diffrent crostinis....looked amazing so I knew I had to come back...

Scene :arrived this morning at 8:30..it was quiet... not many people but I assume it definitely gets busy as the morning passes... the staff very welcoming...very nice...music playing..people coming in talking to owners and workers...very nice..i had a window seat..the only i think there is..

Food: They had morning pastries on the counter including little ramakens(sp?) of blueberry cake like desserts...they looked bubbled over and delic and fresh...I looked at the menu and though the ricotta fritters caught my eye, the blueberry dessert on the counter really caught my eye so i went for it..tho it was bubbled over and looked hot it actually was cold...cake was moist and dense..not flaky and braking..blueberries were tart and sweet and perfect combo and serving size was perfect..after that I ordered the eggs in a camici with tomatoes and basil with pecorino on top..it came with two pieces of perfectly grilled toast with a drizzle of olive oil and some shaved pecorino..the egg was made fresh in the camici and the tomato were perfectly seasoned and hot and combined with basil and pecorino..it was heaven..i had a similar dish at morandi but it wasnt as good..gottino wins the egg in the camici dish for sure..the dish is baked in the oven with the egg sitting in the tomato and basil and then a layer of pecorino on top..perfect crunchynes on top...perfect all the way...there was music playing and people coming in and out it was very delightful..in the end the fritters were calling my name..i asked if i could get just one ( they come in a set of three) i did sweet salty then i needed sweet again... : ) The women behind the counter said oh " i will make u one not a problem it will take 5 mins"...people came in and said what is the amazing smell i knew it was my fritter..so out they came...2 fritters dusted with cinamon and sugar..inside ricota w. pine nuts and raisins..very delightful..not so much a donut consistency which is how i imagined it would be..it was truly ricota w. sugar pinenuts and raisins fried to perfection..i should have waited they were to hot and hadnt set just yet so they fell apart a tad but great combo...all and all Gottino gets a solid A- in my book..I would for sure return

Aventura, FL Eats

Went to Timo for the first time last night with friends ...started with the black and white pizza with mushroom ricotta and truffle..it was amazing..perfect thiness of the crust and perfect amount of saltines of cheese and truffliness...the waiter brought us complimentary butternutsquash with a hint of ricotta raviolis with walnuts and sage and browned butter..they were delic...and a nice surprise..we had the seabass with truffled polenta(which unfortunatly was cold and lacking salt, but could have been amazing if it wasnt ) and fish was good in chooped tomatoes and mushrooms..mushroom risoto side with amazing...gnnochi side with walnuts and sage browned butter was good but after the butternutsquash raviolis was in same sauce and sweetness of butternut squash made the dish shine and made gnochi not(but they were still good just not amazing after the other dish)..we got three desserts which were again sent on the house and were great...warm apple strudel with caramal sauce..a delic choclate souffle with banana dulce de leche icecream,, and fruits with a creamy sweet zabligone sauce..anyway all and all it was amazingg..great service..great food..great!(ps dont mind my spelling errors) Hope this is helpful
