Big fresh steaks, burgers, and large pasta dishes for a low price. The crispy waffle fries are one of the best I've had in restaurants.

Brunch w/Vegan options USQ area?

They do have vegan offerings. I'm not a vegan but I'm pretty sure thats not a request they can't handle.

Small group of girlfriends going to NYC for a weekend

Great people watching at Blue Water Grill on Union Square. Reserve the outside tables. Its across from the park and farmer market. Always a scene on saturdays.

Small group of girlfriends going to NYC for a weekend

Too many kids on the Lower east side on friday nights. Stanton social might be the only bar worthy in that neighborhood.Your better off in the meatpacking district. One little west 12th, pastis, buddha bar, gansevoort hotel bar. maritime hotel are all close by.

Oversea Asian Review with Photos and Question

The grocery store KAM MAN sells the flatbread. Its a singapore brand name "Chinatown' and its located in the outside freezer. You get 5-6 rounds in a package. I brush it with a thin layer of oil and bake it in 350 degrees in the toaster oven for 10-15 minutes. It expands and puffs up. They also carry quick curry sauces in the aisle if you dont want to go through the hassle of it.
Requesting for more fish sauce and shrimp paste would be a bit strange as this only makes the food more salty. You can request for a side of chili peppers and hot sauce which is what I always do.
I also like the spicy thai chicken. Its the same chicken as the hainanese but with a spicy shallot topping instead of the garlic ginger and hotsauce.

Birthday Dilemma (sort of): Bouley, Danube or Gramercy Tavern

I've been to all 4 and I vote for Bouley(1st) GT(2nd). Much better atmosphere too. EMP feels like a corporate dining room and I think I inhaled most of the foams in my chef tasting menu.

New Malaysia Review with Question

Yes, this dish was recently added to their menu.

New Malaysia Review with Question

Nyonya does a better roti IMO. Its hand made so its lighter. Skyway, sanur and new malaysia serves what looks like the frozen prepackaged ones. And thats not mystery meat in your dipping sauce. Its what I call the best part at the end of the rainbow.. chicken.
Ask your waitstaff what vegetable is fresh today. They're honest. Have them do that with the chicken but this time try it with the belacan sauce instead.
Stuffed curry combination. Its peppers and vegetables stuffed with fish patty in curry broth. You can order it with or without noodles.
Hainese chicken over rice if u like ginger scallion dipping sauce. Or Spicy thai chicken which is the same chicken but a with a spicy dried shallot dipping sauce. I'm more partial to the latter.
Beef rendang.
Don't forget the shaved ice for dessert.

No, not anymore and I can go through cups of the sugar cane juice now.

How do you eat canned sugar cane (in light syrup)?

When I was a kid, I used to chew on it to get the juices out. Major sugar high.

Mosco Pizza

Best Steak, not steak house

Azul Bistro is delicious.

Sit down in Chinatown?

I love congee village! They have pictures on their menu in case your unfamiliar with chinese food. My advice: Pick several entrees, order rice, place entrees in center and SHARE. It freaks me out when I see someone eating their own fish/steak/noodle.

In terms of noodle shops, I prefer Hsin Wong (Bayard btwn mott and eliz.) over ny noodletown, big wang, big wong and any other wongs I've left out. But, I also think noodle shops are best saved for breakfast and lunch time. Thats just me.
