David Chang's Bo SSam recipe: anyone make it yet?

My bo ssam is actually in the oven right now! Instead of rubbing the pork with half salt/half sugar like the recipe suggests, I'd recommend 1 part salt to 2 parts sugar.

Locanda Verde brunch review

Yeah, I had pretty bad service the one time I went to Locanda Verde as well. The waitress was just really slow the whole time and rude when we pointed out that our bill included two things we didn't order. She actually snapped at us, "That's not my fault. I didn't do that!" Like...what?

Here's the whole review:

Hosting a Dinner Party on a Budget

Something hearty and cheap might be a simple spicy Thai chicken curry served over noodles or rice. The link is to something I actually made for a big dinner party. Should keep the budget low if you use chicken thigh and seasonal veggies (eggplant is pretty cheap right now!)

Best uses for frozen shrimp/calamari

You can thaw frozen shrimp, cut into small chunks, and mix it into a standard ground pork + egg + chives or scallions dumpling filling and make Chinese dumplings/potstickers. Maybe also try using the frozen shrimp with veggies in Thai curries?

Help - re-do birthday dinner: epic Italian - mostly pastas?

We walked into Babbo earlyish (around 5 or 6pm) on a Friday night and were able to be seated in the walk-in area after roughly half an hour, so that could be worth a shot?
