Last Minute Dinner for a newbie!

Has Celebration moved? It used to be on Lovers Lane, not Mockingbird.

If you enjoy AYCE restaurants with pedestrian food at a low price point then Celebration is the place to go.

Strangely, their lunch menu offers better choices than their dinner menu.

Prior to Tests at Baylor....BEST STEAK RESTAURANT ???

Bob's and Biernat's are within shouting distance of each other and Bob's is "expense account diners" and Biernat's has a " local, well heeled clientele"? They both curry favor with the same crowds. I have seen in quantity in both places the Parkies, the generic white fifty-something businessman types and the high profile athletes.

Also, what EXACTLY was wrong at Bob's that you NEVER enjoyed the food or service?

Dallas / Ft Worth - 1 Night - Mid Week - Suggestions for a beer, a walk about and some good food

Have you been here before?

East of the airport is an area easily four times larger than Wandsworth and that excludes the city limit of Dallas.

£55 round trip cab ride from the airport to Dallas proper.

Looking for smoked Pork in Dallas area......

Kuby's carries smoked pork chops as a standard item. Just make sure you get there early enough before they sell out.

CRAWFISH TIME! But where to get it?

The water used to boil the crawfish at Nate's IS spiced. If you want it hotter, you order it "turbo" and that's when the additional spice is sprinkled on top.

Bijoux going Bistro (at least it isn't becoming another steak house!)

Because people maybe tired of eating faux parakeet foie gras in sweated yak's milk?

Billadelphia's

We can't have enough Philly cheesesteak and hoagie places!

Best affordable lobster in Dallas/Plano/Frisco?

S & D Oyster doesn't serve lobster.

Which Dallas Seafood Market, Rex's or T.J.'s?

God bless, cook in good health, you have more energy than I do.

Which Dallas Seafood Market, Rex's or T.J.'s?

I'm glad you did.

Being a former Northeasterner, I was always told you could walk across Georges Bank on the backs of cod.

Things have changes in 30 years

Which Dallas Seafood Market, Rex's or T.J.'s?

I thought you were exaggerating when you stated that cod were "criminally overfished" until I googled it.

What a disaster and there are no signs that Atlantic cod are rebounding either.

I don't know why someone would want to make their own bacalao, baccala, etc., depending on which country you are standing in when you cook with it, but you can buy it in CM and WF.

Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner recommendations near Love Field?

I have to apologize for not seeing your post sooner and I made a bad assumption that someone else would've already suggested this place.

Neighborhood Services
5027 West Lovers Lane
(214) 350-5027

Excellent bar scene and a chef-driven menu that you would thoroughly enjoy.

But if you do like an AYCE resto at a low price, I would encourage you to go to Celebration.

Do you mean real Italian food or Italian American food?

[DFW] Best Mom and Pop/Hole in The Wall Ethnic Places [DFW]

I've been to Taj Mahal many times and it has at best pedestrian Indian food but I do enjoy their AYCE Sunday night buffet.

Pho in Dallas?

From where I live now, I can't bring myself to drive north of 635 for a bowl of pho and I like the shit out of pho. I'll drive north for FCBBQ but that's about it Asian-wise and that's why Pho Is For Lovers is a good'un for me.

When I lived in the White Rock area, I routinely went to Bistro B and Pho 95 which was my go-to pho place. The service at Bistro B always made me homesick for the surly service of the Chinatown restos of my youth.

A good first date place in Addison...

Not pretentious, not smarmy, not a steakhouse.

Lively without being loud with a good bar. Food need not be that great.

What I'm NOT looking for is Houston's, Chamberlain's, Ferrari's, or Jaxx and if you're advising an Asian place, which may not be a bad idea, give me a 2nd choice as well.

I'm a restaurant idiot when it comes to anything north of 635.

Fort worth BBQ

Daniel Vaughn gave Jesus BBQ a ** rating out of ******.

I believe there are better choices than that.

In-N-Out Burger

The support for INO goes far beyond ex-Californians. That's like saying the only people who eat bagels are ex-New Yorkers.

Let's face it, Dallas is a front running city whether it's the Mavs, Rangers or the trendiest new bar or resto.

In-N-Out Burger

I'd be the first to agree that the INO reaction has been way over the top. There's no way the food will match the hype but that's okay. It's an American cultural thing to overract to anything that has been hyped to this extent.

The economic impact of a Super Bowl is conservatively $400 million dollars. What's that about? After all, it's just a football game.

In-N-Out Burger

You can make the same argument about the current look-at-me-I'm-eating-a-taco-at-a-real-taqueria craze. I've eaten at any number of the "good' places and I don't get it but it's now fashionable to say, "Oh, I had the goat lips tacos at La Fabulosa!" And there's a reason these tacos are a $1 each.

You can't talk about saturation without including the number of Tex Mex restos in this area. Yet if Fearing announced he was opening his own Tex Mex resto, some foodies would be in the corner pleasuring themselves. I mean does Dallas need another [censored] Tex Mex place yet nobody complains about that when a new Tex Mex resto opens.

I don't understand the dynamics of why Krispy Kreme and Steak and Shake failed but I do know the food at both places blows. I've never had a single food item at INO that wasn't good.
