Seattle- Etta's : recommend?
I did try cutters for dinner 1 night and it was good but not one to stick out. I had their beet salad also, didn't hold a candle to the one at serious pie....hmmm interesting when they are owned by the same person (?)

Do I follow you? This Tom guy owns all those places or those are others that you prefer?...Thanks.
I did try serious pie and LOVED their beet salad!
Company Holiday Dinner, SB
Made a decision, We choose the Bay Cafe. I will post after the event. We got to reserve the Wine cellar room to ourselves.
Cieveche in SB
Haven't had a chance to check the boards this week, but just so happens I had dinner at Bay cafe last night! I think I did see ceviche on the menu. I had the local spiny lobster and it was very good. My husband had the wild salmon, it was light and flaky. My mom had the halibut with almond crust, very tasty. We even booked our company holiday dinner there in the wine cellar. So I will post after that event!
Seattle- Etta's : recommend?
I was in Seattle in Feb and stopped for a quick bite at Etta's. I have the fish taco and my husband had the clam chowder. Both were good but wondering if this place is worth a dinner when we return this spring?
What did I miss?
Me personally, I don't know that I could live with out tortillas! So, fill up on the fresh ones made in Old Town.
I visited Seattle in Feb and stayed on 1st and Pine. Everyday around 4-5 we had a lemon drop martini in the restaurant across the street, I think it was called SteelHead. There was a Sliver haired bartender that was always ending his shift and his were the BEST!
We ate pizza at Serious Pie before catching a hockey game. It was a gourmet pizza and wine joint. The beet salad was as good as the pizza.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have also heard of El bajio on Milpas, but haven't made it over there yet. I work between State and Milpas, so some day at lunch I will head that way.
If you haven't had the one at Carlitos, It is worth the stop, they have large chunks of Hailbut!
Artichoke spread recipe? (no cream cheese)
A party favorite is 1 can artichoke hearts, 1 C mayo, 4oz. Feta (i use garlic herb), 1tsp oregano, 1 crushed garlic clove. Mix together, spread in a shallow small (salad plate size) dish. Sprinkle sliced almonds all over the top. Bake 350 for 30mins. YUM.

Company Holiday Dinner, SB
Thanks, we have tried in the past to go where we either have a private room or a section at least. The crew is in their mid to late 20's and seem to order the same steak and lobster when its on our dime. The recent past years have been: Fishouse, Holdrens, Harbor (capitans room) , Brophys downstairs (had to be a weekday) , Beachside.
Santa Barbara: NY Chowhounds looking for romantic dinner
So, Give us an update. Where did you end up dining during your visit?
Company Holiday Dinner, SB
Santa barbara place to hold a company holiday dinner. There will be 20 of us, we have been to all the usual places in the past years. I was thinking the Blue Agave upstairs, but have only been there once for a quick drink. Any suggestions?
Cieveche in SB
I have been on a cieveche look out. I have had the hailbut cieveche at Carlitos a couple of times and I'm hooked. I even did a to go order yesterday around 4pm, $20. Last saturday I ate dinner with a friend there, I ordered it and 2 drinks, my share was $40.... So I was looking for a lunch version a little easier on the pocket book. Los Arroyos is what I tried today and it was yummy too. Smaller halibut chunks, but good clean flavor, that and a soda cost me $12. Any more places for me to try??
Blue Agave SB?
I was also wondering about the Blue Agave. I have asked around and everyone seems to give a vague answer. I work a couple of blks away and I am looking for a place to hold my company's holiday dinner party. I was hoping the food was good and we could use the space upstairs. A group of us stopped in for quick drink after having dinner at Holdrens.
Best Burger, Pizza or Chinese in Paso Robles?
We are up in Paso quite often from SB at the beautiful Naci lake. Thanks a bunch for the great food tips. We are always coming and going in dark, so its hard to wander around HOPING to land something good. I am going to try 4 Hermanos next time!
One night alone in Santa Barbara. What should I eat?
Ditto from me on not choosing La Super rica. Its a taco stand, not a restaurant. Carlitos is a great choice, love their halibut cevieche. Rose Cafe on the Mesa.
Dessert Santa Barbara?
I haven't tried the Hungry Cat yet (chapala & Anapamu?) I thought it was a local, rather than a chain?
Any dessert is yummy. It is suppose to warm up this weekend.
