Which Congee Wong (or similar) is best in GTA? Congee and Noodle House at Don Mills/Finch is a good substitute of Congee Wong. It is slightly cheaper than Congee Wong however I think the food tastes better. |

Two Goblets at Kitchener/Waterloo - are they any good? I'll be visiting Waterloo on Friday night and would like to have German food as dinner and found Two Goblets on google. Does anyone know if they serve grilled Pork Hox as my friend is craving for one. What about the quality of the food? Are there any alternate choice you would recommend? Furthermore, is a reservation necessary for Friday night and is parking space easy to find in the area? Thanks in advance! |

Authentic Taiwanese Food in Toronto? Thanks for the input. I ended up going to Deli Viet and ordered 3 cups chicken, oyster pancake and eggplant pot. The portions were great. However, there was too much flour in the pancake and the oysters were not fresh and the chicken was way too watery for my liking. I'll pass on the desserts as well as I wasn't impressed by the Red Bean Ice Crush. The red beans weren't even cooked through at all and it was very chewy. |

What's a good place to buy the frozen ones? |

Your best bet would be Amoy or Doll. There's a local brand with white and green packaging that has huge portions, but then the 'siu mai' has the texture and taste of a fishball. |

Authentic Taiwanese Food in Toronto? I am looking for a place that serves Taiwanese food, perferrably not those coffee shops who specializes in bubble tea and selling food on the side. I am looking for a place that serves "Three Cups Chicken 三杯雞" to be specific. Any suggestions fellow chowhounders? Thanks in advance! |

I think Sushi Island in Little Italy has it. |

French restaurant recommendation needed Preferably French by French, with minimized Canadian influence in indegridients etc. |

French restaurant recommendation needed Thanks for all the constructive inputs! Keep it going! Bodega doesn't look that authentic to me unfortunately. As for Batifole, what is worth ordering from the menu? |

French restaurant recommendation needed I am looking for an authentic French restaurant, willing to spend up to $80/head excluding drinks, no tourist traps please. Location does not matter as long as it is inside the GTA. Any recommendations fellow chowhounders? Thanks in advance! |

Staying at Tai Hang eh? Agree on what you said, the broth/size/value are no match. |

Most Loblaws/T&T will have it. Lee Kum Kei will be the easiest brand you can find. But I believe there is this brand which has a clear bottle and manufactured in Los Angeles will give you the most authentic flavour as I've seen most Viet/Thai restaurants have that. |

Maxim's pastry - gone WAY down hill!! I agree the place has gone downhill quite a lot. The cakes I had there within these few months were not fresh and tasteless. Maybe because of over expansion after they moved to the bigger shop at their Finch location? |

I am a regular patron of Aoyama and would like to try Zen soon. Is it really hard to reserve a table even on weekday nights? |

As far as I know Yamato is operated by Chinese (you can see them playing mahjong in late afternoons), does anyone know of any places that is Japanese operated? Thanks in advance! |

Best Cantonese take-out in Scarborough? i suggest Joy Fortune Chinese Cuisine (禧運小炒王) on 3453 Vic Park in the area. They are easily noticed with yellow signs in the street plaza that has a Subway in it on the east side of Vic Park south of McNicoll. They have a variety of dishes priced at $5.99 each. |

Urgent: Takeout in Bathurst & 401ish Area What about Paprika? They have the best Wiener Schnitzel in town in my opinion. 3450 Bathurst Street |

Anyone been to Kaze for Japanese? It was good when it first opened in 2005 but it had gone downhill significantly in my last few visits. The servers were rude as well. |

Cantonese Finger Foods- Delivered I suggest Hong Kong Harbor Bistro at 472 Dundas West. |

Looking for great sushi (yes, another thread) You forgot to mention Aoyama Sushi at Sheppard/Vic Park. |

A pick-up dessert in the Hw7+Leslie area? FYI they closed down the Richmond Hill location. |

Haven't been there for a while, but then I really enjoyed the Jumbo Shrimp Don on the dinner menu. The sashimi there were GROSS as pescatarian mentioned and there bentos definitely do not worth the price. As for the nationality of the operators, the sushi chefs speak Mandarin while the owner speaks Cantonese. |

The ever controversial "The Keg" Parking is free after 6 at the lot next to it. Willing to be corrected : ) |

Do they serve Schweinshaxe or any kind of pork knuckle? I am craving for knuckles at the moment. |

Fresh Shanghai Hairy Crabs ( Dai Chop ) in TO I'm curious if they are imported live or dead if they are REALLY from China. |

Zen is NOT authentic IN ALL ASPECTS and it does not target to genuine HK people. It's more to the fusion side and the price is certainly a rip-off. You should check out http://www.openrice.com for recommendations. |
