Pinenuts - Bitter taste in Mouth ACH, the HORROR! It started for me yesterday after I ate a small bag of salt & vinegar Pirates Booty. I thought they tasted kind of strage but not enough to toss the bag. Within an hour or two EVERYTHING tasted bitter and strangly soapy - including water! Same thing is happening today.. sitting here right now and it's so crazy. I *did* have pine nuts, not toasted kept in freezer, for the last 2 or 3 days but not yesterday. Thoughts??? |

With the bacon craze, is anyone hip to bacon donuts in Manhattan? I've had the maple bacon bar from Voodoo in Portland http://www.flickr.com/photos/86047462... and it was really quite tasty. After going back and having several more.. not so much. But it was a good run while it lasted! Donut Plant donuts are at both Dean & Deluca locations at Rock Center - 49th + 48th. Pinky swear. PS: The Vosges choco/bacon bar is tasty - for Valentines you can buy in a wee pig shape! |

The tasting menu is always wonderful, but if you are going with a few friends, then order a la carte. What we all do is order basically most of the menu and pass plates - kind of everyone has 2-3 bites then pass clock, or counter, wise. You truly can't go wrong either way. Yum! |

IKEA!!! I truly never thought of going there.. stupid me. They truly have everything! I was out of town and had a friend try the dixie cup route.. and agreed with all of you that it was a pain. Weee! On to Ikea! Thanks to everyone for the feedback! |

So I bought one of those Tovolo molds and it's pretty good - made some boozy 'cicles that were deelish! Question. I need to make about 25 frozen delites and was curious... has anyone ever made popsicles in dixiecups with a wooden stick? Just wondered if that would work or not. Love the mold but it has it's own stick - you lose one then yer outta luck. |

I've been to both but have returned, several times, to Lupa. This has nothing to do with a difference in menu.. it's just less formal to me. Are you coming in with a group of people? They did a tasting menu for us, a total of 8 people, that was truly fantastical. It's worth asking for! |

Sushi+Tatami Room, Manhattan? Brooklyn? Thanks for the tip! Sadly, their tatami room can only hold 6! What is it with that number? I either can get a max of 6 when I call around OR a minimum of 15 people and with a charge of $10 a head on top of the tab. **sniffle** |

Sushi+Tatami Room, Manhattan? Brooklyn? Does anyone know of a tasty sushi restaurant in Manhattan, or Brooklyn, that has a private tatami room that could hold 8-people AND isn't a million bucks? Sadly, the room at Naka Naka only holds 6... and no amount of tears and begging could get them to budge. Sakura Hana doesn't take reservations for their room and Morimoto doesn't offer one. Typhoon Lounge has a room but I don't know anyone who has gone. Thanks so much! |
