All wonderful, Mirai is amazing, Sai Cafe is great... But no love for the omakase service at Tanoshii? If you're looking for BYO, no pressure, fun rolls, Tanoshii in Andersonville is pretty great. Tanoshii |

Thanks so much! |

Are there any Deli-esque places open for dinner in KC? I know, it makes little sense given that we could get BBQ, but I'm trying to find a dinner place near the Plaza that could accomodate a friend who "loosely" keeps kosher. Thoughts? |

Hi Boston Foodies! Chicagoan here, looking to book a restaurant for a cocktail/hors d'oeuvres hour in October. I'm looking for good drinks and food, and a fun atmosphere, but potentially appropriate for guys in suits. We're expecting about 75 - 100 people. Thoughts? I would love your input! Thanks! |

Does anyone know what happened to The Cheese Stands Alone in Lincoln Square? Their website states that they are closed as of yesterday! |

Pastrami - Thick, Spiced, Buttery Fat What about Perry's on Franklin between Randolph and Lake? HUGE sammies, and pretty great. |

Cafe Bernard is great for French food - super cozy and tasty. It's just 2 blocks north of Armitage on Halsted. I like Enoteca Piattini too, on Webster and Bissell (2 blocks south and 3 blocks east) for small plates. Good reasonable wine list too. |

Coolest bar for fun in Chicago While the drinks are kind of typical, I really like Guthries in Wrigleyville (off the main strip, on west Addison) because they have tons of board games. |

Best Sushi Restaurant/Bar For Toro? I've also been going to Tanoshii a lot lately. Good place to bring the chefs beers (it's byob) but whether you do or not, you just ask Chef Mike to make you whatever he thinks is good. Sure many of you have been there, but thought it was worth mentioning. |

I Think I've Exhausted most "casual fine dining" in Chicago! Need new ideas... West Town Tavern is always great. |

Best Sushi Restaurant/Bar For Toro? IMHO Ringo kinda sucks. Tank, T Spot, and Kite are also on Lincoln, pretty great, but further north. |

Dinner with friends in Bucktown/Wicker Park Recently went to Between with some friends on an off night. Meh. The food is almost all fried, a lot heavier than we were hoping for. Drinks were good, but I don't think I'll be back. PS, anyone who ends their answering machine message with "Thank you for being sexy, and for calling Betw..." isn't in it for the food. |

Tapas, right on, that's a bit closer to North Pier, thanks!! Yup, boat's all set, private boat leaving at 8:30, out til 10:30, so no worries there. |
|

Again, thanks so much for all of the input guys! Here's what I'm thinking about dining on the boat - we're looking to do a boat trip on a Wed night so we can enjoy the fireworks, and those don't start until 9 or 9:30. We are out of work at about 5:30, and I just can't imagine making people stay on a boat for that long, so dinner on board is out (certainly we'll have drinks on board, just after dinner!) We'll have about 20 to 25 people. Again, THANK YOU, and any additional thoughts are great!! |

Greektown is a great idea, but then the cost of cabs all that way would take away from the cost of food. I think, per person, we could stand to spend $55, but that would need to include drinks and tip... |

Hey everyone, I'm a foodie, but I'm trying to plan an outing for my company and the budget is TIGHT. We're looking to do a boat tour late in the evening (from North Pier), and an early dinner before. I've gotten quotes from DelaCosta and Park Grill, but both are a little high. Not sure where else to go around there which is solidly good, but also less pricy. Please help! Thanks!!! |

In Lincoln Square, there is a book store called the Book Cellar, and the food/drinks there are really good. Just a lot of people hanging out, being quiet, reading books, and drinking coffee or wine. |

Girls Night Out in Bucktown/Wicker Park MAS is really good, great drinks and the food is tasty. It's on W. Division, so technically it's east uk village, but worth going to. |

Looking for restaurant for romantic/fun dinner Fun, funky and hip is De Cero on west randolph - it's a modern taqueria, GREAT margaritas, and a short cab ride away. |
|

Fun Casual Dinner for 2 Friends? If you want cheap and GOOD, check out Jake Melnick's - the burgers are really great, and if you're a BBQ fan, the brisket sandwich is amazing. It's cheap and easy and near where you're staying. Also, it's half bar so the atmosphere is fun. |

Looking for same vibe as West Town WTT is one of my FAVE places... Bistro Campagne is a good call, but I had a really "meh" experience there 2 weeks ago, in terms of service, at WTT is so great for that homey feel with fantastic food. I think, even tho it feels much more modern, Sola is a good comparable. The atmosphere is similar even tho the look is different. |
