Boba tea... a.k.a. Bubble tea, Tapioca tea, Pearl tea

Thanks! I'll try Coco's. The Tea Lounge selection/menu is amazing (160 items)--download it from their website or pick up a to-go menu. I loved the iced "mocha coffee with tapioca." Many of their teas/drinks are available hot or cold. They have specials on FourSquare so be sure to 'check in,' and there's an ongoing special of "buy 5, get 1 free." Their Happy Hour is Mon-Thurs 10am -2pm: BUY 2, GET 1 FREE. Oh, and you can bring a used board game and donate it for a free tea!

They have free wi-fi, but there's not a lot of seating. Check out their website: http://www.tealoungetx.com

Bubble Tea place on Parmer?

The Tea Lounge on Parmer is the only place I've had bubble tea (see my recent post asking about other sources of bubble tea). I've tried 4 flavors so far--with great satisfaction. They have a 'rewards' card that you can get stamped each time--to earn a free tea, I think, after 10 purchases. Staff was friendly and helpful. They have a huge selection!

Any recommendations for good spots to get Boba tea? I tried the Tea Lounge on Parmer and it was pretty good, but I'm looking for other options--especially in the Pflugerville/Round Rock area.

Favorite Austin Desserts?

I love the key lime pie at Hula Hut--yummy crust (with almonds)!

Who's gonna be open Thanksgiving?

Gumbo's in Round Rock will be open on Thanksgiving. I don't remember them being open in past years -- has anyone eaten there on Thanksgiving day before? If so, how was it?

Downtown options - group dinner

I'm looking for dinner suggestions near the Hilton downtown. We will probably have a group of 15-20 and would like to find something within a short walking distance (since we'll be up against the August heat). We'll be attending a convention at the Hilton and want to venture out of the hotel Thursday evening for dinner. Looking for a nice atmosphere that allows for conversation without having to scream--and reasonable prices would be a plus. Thanks for your help.

Sunday breakfast or brunch

Thanks so much for your suggestions! I will continue to check this thread and see if any other ideas pop up. I have not been to East Side Cafe in a couple of years and I do remember it being good. :o)

Sunday breakfast or brunch

I would like suggestions for breakfast or brunch on Sunday. Here's the scenario... two ladies (50ish) in my professional association will be in town this weekend for a conference. They are both from Oregon. My husband and I will be taking them somewhere for breakfast on Sunday and neither of them have been to Austin before.

I think they would welcome a unique "Austin experience" but we are also looking for something reasonably priced. We plan to eat around 10 am and I am wondering if there are downtown options, maybe something with a scenic view? I have asked them if they have any specific food preferences and they seem open to just about anything but said they do not really like sausage or biscuits and gravy. I get the feeling they would not like very spicy foods either.

I welcome your ideas. Thanks for your time! ~Kathy

Need suggestions for place to hold lunch/business meeting

Thanks for all of your suggestions! Unfortunately, we are a small non-profit but have been around for 25 years. I am the current pres (new to the organization) but I will ask the other board members if anyone has any connections. I will check into Chez Zee as well as I think the ladies would enjoy meeting there.

Need suggestions for place to hold lunch/business meeting

Thanks. Looks like they have extra fees to use their private dining room, but I will call since I am not sure this is the same thing as the "Garden Room" you mentioned.

Room D
Seating for up to 15 people at an “L-shaped” table
• $250 Room Rental Fee
• $350 Minimum Food and Beverage Purchase
• $125 Service Fee

Best Place For Holiday Dinner

Two years ago we had Thanksgiving at Lucy's Boathouse on the lake and it was just fine for the 4 of us. We have also been to Threadgill's on Lamar for Turkey Day which was okay but very crowded. You will need to make reservations for both places if you don't want a lengthy wait.

Need suggestions for place to hold lunch/business meeting

I am looking for suggestions for an Austin area restaurant to hold a business meeting/lunch for about 15-20 people. We are a non-profit association and have a quarterly business meeting scheduled for Dec. 8 (Saturday). We would like to find a private dining room in a reasonably priced restaurant - it does not have to be fancy. Our members are all women - average age is about 45. We can also consider Pflugerville, Round Rock, Cedar Park, etc.,

Thanks! ...Kathy
