Blood orange juice in the Scottsdale/Tempe/Chandler area?

They have blood oranges by the bag at Trader Joes.

Where to eat near Pointe Squaw Peak?

Tutti Santi has great Italian and nice atmosphere and is almost right across the street.

New York's Best Italian Bistro Scottsdale, AZ

We live in the neighborhood and have driven by this place a million times and always talked about trying, but never did. Until ciaogal's review.

My husband and I went last night. The food was great, the family that owns and runs the restaurant could not have been nicer. We each ordered a special - pork scallopine with arugula pesto and the sole with linguini and lemon sauce. Both were excellent and the prices are so reasonable. Saw pizza coming out that looked great. One of the owners said on Sunday's they do Mamma's Gravy - red sauce with meatballs, sausage, and braciole. We will definitely be back and passing the word in the neighborhood.

German Restaurants

Thanks much to all of you. Doesn't sound like resounding success on the German front. We'll just pick one and let you know how it is. (I do a lot of reading on this board, but not much posting - so thanks for your suggestions.)

German Restaurants

I am looking for some German food recommendations . I know about Haus Murphy in Glendale, but not sure of the food quality. Has anyone eaten there; or have other suggestions? Location isn't important - the food is. Thanks!

sides for this pork tenderloin

I've actually made that pork before. I think I got the recipe from epicurious. The sauce goes great with mashed potato and roasted vegetables, like brussel sprouts.

PHX - Best Coffee Roaster?

I like Arizona Coffee Roasters/Passport Coffee. They are in the Scottsdale Airpark, just east of Scottsdale and Thunderbird. They import beans from around the world and roast to order; so call in your order and give them an hour or two and when you pick it up, it's still warm.

Long shot - McNeal AZ

Cafe Roka in Bisbee is very good if you are looking for a nice dinner. Decent wine list too.

Review: Floyd's Kitchen - Phoenix (w/ photos!)

Thanks for the review! We live in the neighborhood and decided to try it out last Friday night after reading. I had the jerk chicken - it was really good and pretty spicy. That good burn-your-lips-after-the-fact burn. My husband had the chicken piccatta and ate every bite on his plate. Very reasonable prices and a great neighborhood place. We will put it into our rotation. It has a good vibe and they play good music. Owner walks around and asks everyone how their food is.

Recommended to others who went last night and they also had a great experience. Plus just found out they 1/2 price bottles of wine on Monday and Tuesday nights.

prescott restuarants

My husband and I spent a weekend in a Prescott a few months ago. Had a nice meal at Murphy's. Their specialty is prime rib. (Sit in a booth in the bar - very cozy) I think I'd go back back for their happy hour though. They have a great happy hour and on Friday a large raw bar selection. Also had a great time at Bin 239. Wood oven pizzas and pasta and a very large wine selection. Busy and nice atmosphere.

phx - sticky toffee pudding?

I'm not a transplanted Brit, but I did just make a Nigella Lawson recipe that called for golden syrup. It definitely has a different flavor than karo (more like butterscotch - richer) and I'm glad I sought out the real thing. They carry it now at Fry's.

Siesta Key Vacation - need recommendations

Thanks very much!

Siesta Key Vacation - need recommendations

We will be vacationing on Siesta Key at the end of June. Does anyone have any recommendations on Siesta Key? Also, looking for a good wine shop. Thanks!

Pizza Help Please ... (Scottsdale AZ)

We live in the same neighborhood. Gabio's is our regular take-out/delivery spot now. It's in the same strip mall as Safeway and Blockbuster at 64th Street and Greenway (it has been at least 4 different pizza places over the past few years, but it seems the new owners finally have it right). Great thin and crispy pizza - they do NY-style as well, but we prefer the thin. It really is a great alternative, when you don't want to drive into Old Town to Grazie.

Coffee in AZ

I get all of my coffee from Passport Coffee - Arizona Coffee Roasters. They import beans from around the world and roast them on premises. In fact, you call ahead and tell them what you'd like, they roast it, and you pick it up in their office in the Scottsdale airpark - it's not a coffee shop. The beans are still warm. Their Portofino espresso from Italy is great. www.passportcoffee.com

Food, beer, wine tasting events in Phoenix Metro?

They do have them every Wednesday. Have been going to them for a few years.

Food, beer, wine tasting events in Phoenix Metro?

Bacchus at Kierland Commons has a wine tasting every Wednesday at 6:30pm. They are formal tastings with the wine maker or distributor. Always very informative and usually very good wines - $15 usually gets you at least five pours plus appetizers. You can check them out at www.bacchusaz.com

Restaurant featuring home made pastas

Tutti Santi on 60th St and Greenway is my personal favorite. Whenever they have the veal canneloni special you must order it - the homemade pasta literally melts in your mouth. My husband also had a duck ravioli special a few week ago that was wonderful. Homemade gnocchi are also especially good. Not to mention the warm, friendly service you get from the entire staff.
