Prime Rib and Crock Pot

I made a texas style brisket from cooks illustrated in a slow cooker and I imagine this could be done in a similar way. What you would do is take whatever you'd normally use to make gravy and put it in the center of the slow cooker. Then put a foil loaf baking dish over it. Then rest the Prime Rib on top of that. Then put a little beef broth in the bottom. What will happen is the juices will go to the bottom and get sucked under the foil and the rib will roast with dry heat. This might actually work well because a slow cooker will cook at around 200 degrees on low and you could have it go for over 12 hours. Gelsons is having a sale right now, prime rib for $11 lbs so I might actually try this.

Le Creuset interior rough

I never use anything harsh on it. Only things like palm olive or some 7th gen.

It's weird because I don't feel like I've scrubbed it that hard.

Le Creuset interior rough

Today I as I was cleaning my LC i noticed that the inside was slightly rough. It starts about 2 inches down and covers everything. It even has a slightly chalky look to it. I'm really careful when I clean it and only use mild soap. Has anyone else had this problem.

I bring it up because I wanted to send it back to LC but they just told me that if they deem it my fault they won't ship me another piece and the best they can do is offer me a new one for 75% off. Has anyone had experience with sending it back for this reason?

How to Clean Super Dirty Le Creuset

So about 6 months ago I made some chicken tikka masala, put it in my extra fridge in the garage and proceeded to forget about it. When I took off the top I wasn't surprised to see that there had been massive growth. It's super disgusting. Is there anyway to safely clean it or is it done for? I don't care how intensive it is, I'd like to be able to clean it and save it.

How should I cook Lamb Belly?

Wow thanks for all the info. Since it's belly and has a huge layer of fat do you really think I need a lot of butter? I had heard that chicken stock brings out the lamb flavor better than beef stock. Any experience with that?

How should I cook Lamb Belly?

I thought about Guiness but I thought something a little lighter would work better. I also thought about Newcastle but my roommate says after a long time it starts to taste weird.

How should I cook Lamb Belly?

I figure I should probably braise it but I've never braised lamb. What type of liquid should I use in the braise. One of my friends suggested beer but what beer would go well with lamb?

I'd prefer to buy it in a bottle but if the only place that has it is a bar that's fine.

Street food tour of Japan

I'm going to Japan next month and my main goal is to eat, eat and eat some more. I want to eat a lot of street food and local places rather than fine dining. Can anyone suggest some cities that I should visit? I plan on spending around 2 1/2 weeks there. Any suggestions?
