Best Place to Buy Beer Online?

Awesome, thanks. I live in Colorado and there's no shortage of great beer around here. But my parents live in a small, northern Minnesota town. No regional/microbrews available. Not even stuff from Minneapolis. So every time they visit Colorado, they love the beer and I was hoping to send them a bunch for Christmas.

Help - Casual sushi on the West Side

Hi There,

Former LA resident coming back to down for business. Trying to find a casual, but solid sushi spot on the west side. Doesn't need to be out of this world good. Just fresh, tasty sushi in a relaxed atmosphere. Sakura on Centinela was my old standby. Are there others in that vein nearby?

Thanks.

Heirloom Turkeys in Mpls Area

Anybody know a farmer who's selling pastured heirloom turkeys for Thanksgiving?

DENVER - 24 hours, 3 meals, pls. recommend

Fruition and Duo are musts. Sam's #3 and Snooze are solid breakfasts but I think Lola beats them both. But you'd have to go on Sunday instead of Monday. Deluxe is another good dinner place and Osteria Marco would be a good place to eat at the bar.

MSP: Neighborhood bars, Mpls

Try these:
Maxwell's on Washington - Just off 35W between the Mobil station and Grumpy's.
Whitey's - Right on Hennepin in NE Mpls

Moving to Denver - Need a Welcome Dinner Destination

This is great. Thanks for the information. Already am holding a reservation at Mizuna so I'm all good there. Can you help me out with more information on Deluxe by chance? How does the food compare to Mizuna? I've heard good things but it doesn't look like they have a website to check out further. Thanks again for the help. Much appreciated.

Moving to Denver - Need a Welcome Dinner Destination

My fiance and I are moving to Denver. I'm already here and she arrives in 3 weeks. I need a great place for dinner on a Friday night to welcome her to town. Prefer amazing food in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. We love Frasca in Boulder. Something along those lines would be great. But doesn't have to be Italian. Just killer food, great wine in a laid back place with attentive, down to earth service.

Can anyone help? Thanks a ton.

One day in Minneapolis - need suggestions.

Everything we had was amazing. We started with sweet & sour crab salad and sea scallops with oyster mushrooms. Then split the halibut for an entree. All three are mentioned on the sample menu on their website. Have also heard great things about the bacon, egg and harissa sandwich but personally haven't tried it. Overall, one of the best tasting, most comfortable, laid back dinner experiences I've had in a while. You'll dig it.

Realize this is way late, but yes, $120 was for two.

What's up with Clarklewis in PDX?

I'm an LA 'hound that'll be in Portland for two nights next week. Previously I've heard all sorts of good stuff about Family Supper and then Clarklewis. But word on the street seems to have cooled significantly. What's the latest? If Clarklewis has lost it's luster are there are other great options for a similar dining experience in Portland?

Thanks!

pls recommend a Gruner Veltliner

Nigl for sure. Got it for $14 in LA and it was great. Loimer is another one that's pretty tasty.

Recommend a beer store in Culver City [moved from Beer board]

Agreed on Beverage Warehouse. And you can also swing by LA Wine Company which is in the same complex I think is one of the best wine stores in the city.

Gruner Veltliner

Have you been to LA Wine Company over in the Culver City/Mar Vista area (www.lawineco.com)? I was there about three weeks ago (it's a stand-by as I live nearby) and I picked up the 2004 Nigl for $14. Also grabbed a 2004 Loimer that's pretty tasty.

Minneapolis..?

I'm also an LA 'hound that's originally from Mpls. There's lots of good recommendations above, particularly Heartland, Zander, Modern Cafe, Auriga, and all the great Vietnamese places on Nicollet Ave.

But I was just home over 4th of July weekend and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention 112 Eatery or Sea Salt. 112 Eatery is downtown and it's basically a place by chefs for chefs/foodies. Great simple food that's fresh, seasonal, tastes amazing and won't break the bank. Throw in a wine list full of undiscovered gems and a great, laid back atmosphere and you can't beat it. Go.

Sea Salt is in a park and run by two guys that used to work at Coastal Seafoods, Minneapolis' leading fish market/restaurant supplier. They volunteer to unload each morning's shipment and get to pick through the inventory for the best stuff.

Both places are killer.

And for breakfast make sure to hit Hell's Kitchen (get the bison sausage or wild rice porridge) or any of the great places on Lyndale Ave in uptown.

Have a great trip.

112 Eatery is a must. Was just there (my hometown) over 4th of July weekend and it was amazing. Small neighborhood place with killer food, and a great wine list of diamonds in the rough. Nothing fancy. Just fantastic, chef-driven food, a laid back vibe, and great wine. Plus they're open late. You'll feel like you got a great deal when you leave there and your tab is under $120 for appetizer, entrees, drinks, and a dessert.

Sorry for the confusion, the "It may not be imported to the states" comment was indeed a question. In any case, thanks a ton for the website. Very much appreciated.

While traveling Europe my Grandmother fell in love with this Apricot liqueur from Wachauer Marillen-Distillerie (in either Germany or Austria, I'm not sure which). At any rate, I've been trying to find it for her and have come up empty online and at retail. It may not be imported to the States, but doesn anyone know of German/Austrian market or specialty food/liquor store that might be worth a shot?

Thanks for the help!
