Comments/advice on our wine country dinner choices for 3 nights?

Thanks for the suggestion; will check it out. BTW, had a horrible lunch at Fremont Diner. Order El Chavo brisket sandwich. Fully 1/2 of the "meat" was pure fat. Sent it back and ordered a smoked turkey sandwich. No flavor and not a hint of smoke. Best that can be said is that the replacement sandwich was inoffensive. Only bright note--excellent housemade potato salad.

Comments/advice on our wine country dinner choices for 3 nights?

Spouse and I are visiting Napa/Sonoma, 5/21-5/24, (staying in Sonoma) and have picked the following for dinner each night (in order): Cafe La Haye, Fig Cafe, and Bistro Jeanty. Good choices in this price range? Other suggestions?

From Berkeley, planning to have lunch at Fremont Diner tomorrow, but have no specific plans for breakfast or lunch, except at least one visit to Oxbow Public Market for lunch. Any suggestions for these meals?

Saturday driving from Sonoma to Cloverdale to stay with friends and thought to have lunch in the Healdsburg area. Suggestions?

We're new to the area, so are making choices based on reviews and comments here. Atmosphere matters for dinner, but for breakfast and lunch, food quality and value matter most (around $30-35). Thanks--Ted

Dinner suggestions--Van Ness & Market (Civic Center)? [San Francisco]

Not "fine dining". Asian, Middle East, Indian/Pakistani/Nepalese, etc. or perhaps something like Brenda's French Soulfood (don't know it--just looked at menu and reviews). Thanks for responding.

Dinner suggestions--Van Ness & Market (Civic Center)? [San Francisco]

We're new in town and are planning to attend concerts and the SF Conservatory of Music at 4pm and 8pm on Thursday. Any suggfestions for a modest, informal place to have dinner between the concerts? Thanks--Ted

TAKE-OUT NEAR CONVENTION CENTER?

Interesting. Your rec for the Sports Bar is the second restaurant in the Omni recommended in this thread (Bob's Steakhouse). We just checked to the Omni for 8 nights (wife is attending a conference--hence my eating alone most of the time).l We're tired and don't feel like leaving the hotel on our first night, so the Sports Bar or Bob's it is! Thanks.

TAKE-OUT NEAR CONVENTION CENTER?

Thanks again for the taking the time to respond--and also for suggesting tourist stuff, such as the tunnels. I really appreciate it. Flying to DFW tomorrow.

TAKE-OUT NEAR CONVENTION CENTER?

Next week, I will be staying near the convention center for one week, without a car. First visit to Dallas. I generally prefer to get take-out and eat in my hotel room. Suggestions would be appreciated. FYI, I am a BBQ hound, but have the impression that, despite a Texas BBQ craving, it would be wise to do without rather than go to Sonny Bryan's nearby West End location. Also like authentic Mexican, Tex-Mex, Cuban, Indian, middle-eastern, good sandwiches, Italian subs, and various Asian. Thanks

REQUESTING TAKE OUT RECS NEAR MERCHANDISE MART

WOW! Thank you so much. I'm here in Chicago and ready to hit the streets soon for dinner. Passed Lou Malnati's in the cab coming from the airport, so I already know where it is (always making mental notes of eateries as I enter my hotel's neighborhood). I am very grateful that you took the time to respond. If anyone needs advice for Portland, I'll be glad to help. Isn't CH great?

REQUESTING TAKE OUT RECS NEAR MERCHANDISE MART

Will be in town from tomorrow until Sat. at a hotel near the merc and would appreciate recs for good places that have take out, especially modest-priced ethnic, such as Chinese, Thai, Viet, Middle East, Indian/Pakistani, Mexican, other Latin, and an American ethnic favorite--BBQ. If there is an especially good dine-in only rec, would be glad to have that too. Thanks!
