Fresh duck livers?
Hello all,
I am here in San Diego for a few months, and I am wanting to find some fresh duck livers. I am willing to travel to find them, but I am in the Mission Valley area, if there is a place anywhere near there.
Thanks in advance.
Where to find/buy fresh bay leaves in San Francisco?
I have seen them in Berkeley Bowl, in their herb section.

Chez Panisse Cafe Review - Sadly, a must miss in nearly all regards.
The first and only time I ate at Chez Panisse Cafe, I had the calzone. It was magnificent. It matched your description of it.
The thing that really hit me though, was dessert. It was an almond cake, with a fruit compote, with whipped cream served along side of it. I was just blown away, not by the dessert, but by the whipped cream. It was the best I had ever had, and have had since. I think it was Straus Family, but oh my. It was whipped to the perfect consistency and just made everything fall into place. Such a simple thing, but it was a crowning touch.
To me, that is what makes Chez Panisse special: that emphasis on the simple things.
Raley's $2 organic chicken, 10 cent organic fennel at Giovanni's & other finds
I am coming in very, very late to this discussion, but one place I haven't seen mentioned is Monterey Market in Berkeley. Especially the outside. I always got extremely good deals on produce there, and some of it was exemplary. Sometimes they get a really good deal from the farmers with whom they work, and they put that produce out as a special. I have often gone there and gotten several stuffed bags of really good produce for about $10. I am not living in the bay area at the moment, but I doubt Monterey Market has changed that much.
Breakfast east of Memphis
Hello all,
I will be traveling along I-40 and staying just east of Memphis for the night, particularly in the Bartlett/Cordova area next week. I am wanting to find a place for breakfast in that area, preferably near I-40 and the Sycamore View area. I am not willing to travel too far from that area, and I prefer a non-chain place that is relatively inexpensive. And if it is a southern style breakfast, even better.
Any ideas?

I believe Raleys sells them as well. At least they used to do so.
German sausages/meats in Albuquerque?
Heya all,
I just moved here to Albuquerque, and I am looking for a source for German meats and sausages, if there is such a place here. I was talking about Chaucroute Garni with some other food friends yesterday, and I started getting a hankering for it.
I am just really starting to explore all the food sources here, but I am fairly familiar with the city. I am in the NE Heights, but I am willing to travel to almost any part of the city.
Thanks.
