STELLA DORO Closed??? - Old Saybrook Ct

With a Pepe's in New Haven and one at Mohegan Sun there is no need form more pizza joints in SE Connecticut.

Asian Food Markets? along Shoreline CT (Old Saybrook/New London area)

Have not been to Lee's but will try it out since it is marginally closer to me than the excellent Korean market "New Asia Market" at 646 Long Hill Rd in Groton, CT.

Ortega: New Mex in Clinton

Went to Ortega's/Groton and it was the best of many visits there while still not what I am used to from California.

Going to try Ortega's/Clinton tonight, will report. Since there is no liquor license I will be taking a couple of cervasa's along.

Have you tried Samurai (Old Saybrook, CT) on the Post Rd?

Been a couple of times and enjoyed ourselves. Food and Service were good to very good.
I have always thought it was a shame to drive by and see so few cars in the lot.

C'mon, Old Saybrook, support the good stuff in your community.

Som Siam East - Old Saybrook

Stopped in Mystic for gas at the Exit 90 Shell and to my amusement found it next to an asian-fusion restaurant "Thai One On".

So, no need to apologize for the pun.

Went last week (about 6 times so far) and the Xmas pedicab was taken down, just in time to put it back up. I am from the SF Bay Area where Thai Restaurants tend to leave Christmas decorations up all year long.

In conclusion, I have to agree with you, Som Siam East is a treasure in a strange location. I sincerely hope that the community embraces it.

Lobster Roll from Johnny Ad's, Old Saybrook, CT

As a native Bay Arean it's good to see that New England seafood shacks are appreciated out there. Will be picking up dinner for the family at J. Ad's on my way home from my daughter's soccer game in Old Lyme. The hot lobster roll (New England traditional) is very good. For the ultimate it would be worth 300 mile side trip to visit Red's Eats in Wiscasset, ME, between Brunswick and Boothbay Harbor. There is and can be no better lobster roll on earth. It is regularly voted the best lobster roll in ME, by consumers and critics alike, which by definition makes it the best in the world. God, now you got me salivating. But, J. Ad's will be great tonight.
