Oh great. Now I have something else to get irritated about:-)

Who would have thought the AMA got the obesity problem wrong.........

No and I have no intention of doing so. Cancer centers who "feed" on desperate sick people with commercials have no place in my book.

To address the original post:

Back about 2007 or so I knew three people who had the lapband done. They all told me you had to be at least 100 pounds overweight to have the operation done. And they were. Then a few years later it was down to 60 pounds. Now the commercials advertise 30 lbs. I'd like someone to explain to me how this is is not a f*****g racket. The world of medical procedures is going to hell in a pothole...try and tell me it's not about the money:-(

When there is no "tip" option on the credit card receipt....

I am with you 100% on this. I cannot imagine leaving the house without cash on me. Cash means security to me I guess.

Those Cancer Treatment Centers of America that are cropping up all over the place like cancerous sores with their success stories only to read that you should not expect typical results. These people are nothing but vultures IMO...

Snorting it sounds interesting. I never would have thought of that:-)

Powdered Alcohol ~ The next best thing?

It's a definite train wreck considering all the lawsuits that will ensue after people partake of it in one way or the other. But the Treasury Department approved of it. So it must be ok...

How to spot bad BBQ

I've never been to Salt Lick but I remember back when the place was showcased in the 80's on Great Chefs of the West. Her secret ingredient in the BBQ sauce was the peach juice left from the canned peaches used in the cobbler. Nothing went to waste there. Funny. Some things you never forget.

Market Basket (Ashland) - problems with worker docs.

It's a country wide problem. Which is why I suggested the change of venue.

Should have just stayed out of it. When will I learn:-)

Market Basket (Ashland) - problems with worker docs.

I live in Texas and don't believe this particular subject should be hidden away on the Boston board. I say move it over to General Topics.:-)

Do you wonder why the Chow site stinks?

Which would explain why they left this thread alone.:-(

Corn Casserole?

Paula Deen's corn casserole gets rave reviews. I liked it well enough but it was a tad too sweet for me. Next time(if there is one:-) I won't use Jiffy.

I felt bad for the long time posters who posted there in good faith with advice that was actually helpful and on point. Only to be down voted for no "good" reason. Spiteful behavior if you ask me.

To be perfectly honest with you I am fast losing interest in this thread. He/she needs to just spill the beans and get it over and done with. They appear to have some type of immunity here. So what the heck:-)

Not sure what you mean by this comment. But I will say this. You've obviously gotten away with more than most posters on this board ever would. That speaks volumes to me. And it's not good.

super budget meals

The cheapest meals I make are when my grocery store puts smoked sausage on sale for $1 per package. Sliced and fried up with either potatoes and onions or cabbage. Cornbread on the side(I just use a package mix). Not a dollar meal but still pretty darn cheap.

There is some mean spirited voting going on over there. Very unfriendly place.

Date.... ordering seafood?

Fish, broccoli, salmon patties and the like are persona non grata in most offices. As much as I like them I would never dream of bringing them to work and sticking it in the microwave.

Supermarket pricing.......can someone explain this to me?

Off topic but your post reminds me of an article I read once. It said that companies refer to customers who pay their credit card balances off before the finance charges kick in as "deadbeats".
