Recipe for "Spicy Secreto" @ the St. Francis Hotel bar Santa Fe ?

I believe it was made with crushed cucumber, jalapeno and cachaca rum Should be served in a Martini or Margarita glass.

Does anyone have a recipe for the "Buenavista" cocktail @ Sra. Martinez Miami?

One of the best cocktails I've ever had. It was made with Hendrick's Gin, Sobieski Vodka, St. Germain,Mint , Lime juice. -I think.

Is Harissa Supposed to Be That Bitter?

I like Harissa DEA. Not bitter at all. Wish I could find a larger tube! I've only been able to find 120g.tubes.

Paris dining on Sundays and Mondays?

I will be in Paris for two weekends and so many super places are closed on Sunday and Monday. I would like recommendations for places in the 30-100 euro p.p.range. Searching for casual atmosphere Resto's , Bistros or cafes for lunch/dinner . I am staying in the St. Suplice area and the Champs de Mars area, but we will taxi or metro to other areas as well. THX.

Thank you John, I've enjoyed your blog. I am also interested in your recommendations for restos . We will be staying in the 7th (Hotel Ares Eiffel) and between the 5-6th ( Hotel Recamier) Breakfasts near to hotels , but lunch and dinner anywhere. Breakfast , lunch and dinner out. -we would like to have as much info as possible. May I ask your opinion of the Jules Verne ?

"Newer" bistro recommendations for May 2010?

We will be in Paris 12 may-15 may and return 22 may- 25 may. Both times therewill be a holiday. I would like some recommendations for a few newer places and perhaps 2 older ones not to be missed. Prefer a more relaxed atmosphere and superb traditional cuisine.

Seeking veal/mushroom meatloaf that Franey/Claiborne published many years ago

The above recipe for Pierre Franey's "Pain de Viande Champignons" is from 1981: More 60 min. gourmet. Funny I made this last night- it is one of my favorites! Every time I make it I get Kudos. I double the recipe and have substitute 1/2 light sour cream and 1/2 fat free half and half. Just because I never have heavy cream.
Note: very little fat - the way it should be.
