weird food combinations

So I recently had Totino's Triple Cheese pizza and dipped it in a deli made tartar sauce with dill. Oh my god and I'm serious. It was delicious. I was embarrassed but then decided to embrace it. Do you think it sounds good or disgusting? Do you have a similar food combo that you are embarrassed about?

Gravity Bar clones?

I know this is an older thread, but I just wanted people to know that the Redwing Café in Rainier Beach has Harambe salad with the lemon tahini dressing from the Gravity Bar. It is so delicious! The salad has mixed greans, shredded carrot, shredded beet, shredded daikon, pumpkin seeds and the lemon tahini dressing. They also have delicious vegan and vegetarian sandwiches and soups. Plus really yummy pastries and cookies. Some of the pastries are vegan and gluten free. Great espresso drinks, too! https://www.facebook.com/redwingcafe

Redwing is open 7-4. So you can go to Redwing and then go to Jude's Old Town (same owners as Lottie's Lounge in Columbia City) or Nate's Chicken and Waffles (Nate Robinson of the Sonics) for dinner. All of these places are on 57th Ave. S. just off of Rainier Ave. S.

Low carb pescetarian

Hi. I'm looking for restaurants - fast food, casual, fine dining - that are vegan, vegetarian, pescetarian, our omnivore that have the previous options. Smoked salmon is a favorite as are grits. Unfortunately, I don't like spicy. Thank you.

What do you serve for drinks at dinner parties?

I'm curious about this. If you were having hamburgers and hot dogs for a summer party and your friend's favorite drink with a hot dog is a coke. Would you not have coke for him to drink? Could he bring his own coke and drink it in your house?

Super Easy Few Ingredient Holiday Cookies and Candy

I'm looking for super easy and/or few ingredient holiday cookie and candy recipes. Honestly, I don't really like the flavor of Pillsbury or other refrigerated cookie dough, but if it has enough other flavors mixed in, I'm sure I would like it. Thank you!

Places & Styles for Eating While Watching the Hawks

Rookie's in Columbia City is great. It's not very big, can be crowded. The food is great, lots of vegetarian options and the staff is really nice and fun. I usually get the burger with a veggie patty, my husband likes the California Melt and you can get salad or waffle fries with your burger. The nachos also look really good.

Suggestions for authentic Mexican dish to please 3rd grade class

Just curious. Why do you use fat free beans when you're using lard or bacon fat? Do you like the texture of fat free or something? I can't imagine you could taste a difference with all of the other ingredients.

Substitute for liquor in olive oil cake

I want to make the olive oil cake that I saw on this site, the recipe is below. I want to substitue lemon zest because I don't like orange flavored pastries. I would also prefer to not use liquor because I usually don't like the flavor in cake and if I don't have to purchase liqueur specifically for this recipe I would prefer not to. Should I substitute something else for the liquid? Thank you!

INGREDIENTS

3 large eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1 cup good-quality extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for coating the pan
1/4 cup amaretto liqueur, such as Disaronno
1 tablespoon finely grated orange zest
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting the pan
1/2 cup coarse-ground cornmeal
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
Powdered sugar, for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

Heat the oven to 350°F and arrange a rack in the middle. Coat a 9-inch round cake pan with olive oil and flour; tap out the excess.
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and granulated sugar until well blended and light in color. Add the milk, measured olive oil, amaretto, and orange zest and mix well.
In another bowl, stir together the measured flour, cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until just blended (the batter will be slightly lumpy; do not overmix).
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with only a few crumbs, about 40 to 50 minutes. Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool completely.
When the cake has cooled, run a knife around the perimeter of the pan and invert the cake onto a serving plate. Dust with powdered sugar, cut into 12 pieces, and serve.
