Shelburne, VT
Morganna - I haven't been...just threw it out there because its smack dab in the middle of Shelburne. We've been meaning to try it but we have so many other faves in the area that we just keep skipping over it.
I'd like to hear some reviews myself.
Shelburne, VT
the Farmer's Market is fantastic too. On Saturdays. Right in town. You can't miss it.

There is also Barkeaters. I NEVER hear anything about it.

AND. How could I forget The Bearded Frog??
Good solid food. We really like it there.

Have you been to Starry Night Cafe in Ferrisburg? About 15 minutes south of Shelburne. Highly recommend if you have not.

A really cool place to go is Pizza On Earth - though they are only open Fridays but that may change when summer season kicks in. Pizzas are yummy and they make their on gelato. BYOB and enjoy your pizza on the property. It is in Charlotte, about 10 minutes from Shelburne.

We really like Cucina Antica. Really popular with locals. I never ever hear about it here or in any type of touristy info. Really nice staff, owner/chef is awesome. He always steps out of the kitchen to say hi and to see how you like your food. http://bistrocucina.com/
Folino's Pizza at Fiddlehead Brewery is really new. We haven't tried it yet but hope to soon.

Vermont Restaurant Week 2012
We went to Bar Antidote in Vergennes last night. Totally forgot it was Resto Week. We got lucky and they could accommodate us (they were booked!). My favorite dish there is the Surf 'N Turf burger and it happened to be one of their "prescriptions" for Resto Week. For $25 I got a caeser salad, Surf 'N Turf burger (local beef with sea scallops - SO GOOD), and a rhubarb tart for dessert. I did find the salad to be a little too lemony for my taste. My dinner mate ordered the pulled pork sandwich off the regular menu-high raves. All pork for the restaurant is raised 6 miles from the restaurant at the chef/owners farm.
This place is a gem in Vergennes. Highly recommend a visit.

REVIEW: Prohibition PIg - Waterbury, VT
I wanna go too! Thanks for the review. Gotta find an excuse to go to Waterbury now!
pink slime free in northernn new england
Nope. I don't buy ground meat at grocery stores. Just local beef from our co-op or directly from the farm. The only way to go IMO.

Bobcat Cafe in Bristol or Black Sheep in Vergennes would be my suggestions. About 15-20 minute drive.
Vermont- Killington, Rutland and Mendon
Shann- I forgot about the fire at Table 24. Are they eventually going to re-open or are they shutting down for good?
Also..Sal's. Its in Rutland, right? I've been to Sal's South in Wallingford and went in not expecting much but came out pleasantly surprised-had a really good seafood linguini. My parents really like their pizza. Not sure if the Rutland location has a good reputation or not as I have not heard.

You'll also be close to Cabot so you could visit the Creamery, take a tour and sample cheese.

If you like beer....the Hill Farmstead Brewery is in nearby Greensboro.

You also ought to read "The Town That Food Saved" by Ben Hewitt before you head out if you can. It's all about Hardwick.

Grade B syrup in Nashua?
This is going to sound weird (ha) but Christmas Tree Shoppes have Grade B pretty frequently. I've found Maple Grove and McClures there.
Panda Pavillion--Rutland VT
Keep posting about Rutland! I meet my mother there occasionally and am always looking for good places.
Is the place you are speaking of in this post over by Home Depot?
We went to a chinese place on 7 north of town near Godnicks that was decent but I can't remember the name.
Anything good near Essex?
Tiny Thai in the Essex Outlets is really good but it's not local/seasonal. They have a great lunch deal there - a drink, and app and an entree for under $10.

Suggestions for Lyndonville, VT area between X-mas & New Years?
I agree. I couldn't believe it when I heard it either!
Suggestions for Lyndonville, VT area between X-mas & New Years?
Breakfast: Miss Lyndonville Diner
Dinner: Tamarack Grill at Burke Mountain. Great atmosphere and good food.
Kham's Thai in St. Johnsbury - surprisingly good thai food. I know someone from Burlington who drives over to eat there!
I've heard good things about Willy's in East Burke but I haven't been yet.
Elements in St. Johnsbury scheduled to close
Bummer. That is my go-to restaurant when I'm in St. Johnsbury. Much better than anything else in town IMO-thought I have not tried Dylans. How is that place?
My other stand-by in the area is the Creamery in Danville.
Decent Food near Burlington Airport, Sunday afternoon TODAY
I'd also mention that the Windjammer and it's Upper Deck Pub have good solid food. Located right off Williston Road in the Best Western complex. NOT your typical hotel restaurant.

Best Dinner Choice- Middlebury or Vergennes?
Please let us know where you ended up. Sounds like you have a much more sophisticated palate than I do and I value your thoughts!
Best Dinner Choice- Middlebury or Vergennes?
Honestly...the foliage is horrible this year. It's really late turning and there are lots of dull colors. FYI-you can take 100 to 125. Its open. Get off the Betheol exit, take route 12 north to Camp Brook Road and take that over the mountain to Rochester where you can pick up 100. Route 107 between Bethel and Stockbridge is still closed. I've been driving around that area all week.
I still haven't had a meal in Middlebury that I've really, really loved. Good food sure..but nothing "special".
I still really like Black Sheep and Starry Night and can recommend them both.
Have you tried Touterelle in New Haven (just north of Middlebury) or Mary's at the Inn at Baldwin Creek in Bristol? A friend of mine raves about both of these. I have yet to go. I also really like Cafe Provence in Brandon-about 20 minutes south of Middlebury.

Annual Burlington Visit- Seeking 5 Excellent Dinners
I don't remember service being an issue. Then again I was enjoying the company I was with so if it was slow I just didn't notice (or care!).
Annual Burlington Visit- Seeking 5 Excellent Dinners
Drunken Noodle is gone now. I always preferred (and still do) Tiny Thai over Drunken Noodle.
I'd give Starry Night another chance. I had an excellent meal there recently. One of the best meals I'd had in a long time (I had salmon).

I've been there once and had the morning bun - AWESOME. My only "complaint" is that the place feels a little too "cool" for me. I feel out of place in there. As vjpam said, it's got more of a city vibe.

Summer Dining in Middlebury, VT
I second Starry Night and Black Sheep Bistro. Worth the drive. Another great place is the Bobcat Cafe in Bristol, about 15 minutes away-they brew their own beer which is a plus.
We like the Waybury Inn. We prefer to sit in the pub for a more casual atmosphere.
I've only had lunch at the Storm Cafe but thought it was really good. They have nice outdoor seating area along the river. The inside of the restaurant is pretty small.
