Xiao Long Bao at Ten Ichi F

I wish Ten Ichi was good as it's in my neighborhood. But the reviews on other site deter me from trying it. The restaurant should spend more resources in improving their food instead of writing counter reviews.

Feng Shui of Natick for weekend's lunch or night buffet?

I want to bring my mom to the newly opened Feng Shui Restaurant on Route 9 in Natick. I heard that they offer lobster, crab leg and shrimp for the night buffet which sounds like a pretty good deal. But quality matters more. Has anyone been there? Not expect anything that is out of this world but look for value and decent food.

Why no good Chinese Cuisine west? 帮助

Oh no. Should have gone there more often to help their business.

Why no good Chinese Cuisine west? 帮助

You already know where the "relatively" good Chinese restaurants are in the west of Boston. The only place I encourage you to try is Beijing Star in Waltham for their basic but "hit the spot" hand cut noodle. I think they are pretty close to what we can get in China.

A superb first impression: Singh's Cafe in Wellesley (detailed review)

I had their weekend brunch a month ago and it was REALLy good too. I definitely will go back soon.

Restaurant Depot Worth it?

I really wish that I could check this place out. But their website said business license or tax-exempt certificate was required to be a member. I guess it's not for regular people like me.

Best Soup for Medicinal Purposes

I've got no scientific support but in Chinese's culture we always have congee when we don't feel good and an absolute no-no for anything that has chicken in it.

Korean dinner buffet at Sapporo in Westborough

Went to Sapporo yesterday night for their Sunday-only dinner buffet based on the recommendation of some family memebers.

Got there around 5:30 p.m. and the restaurant was not half full. It got a bit busy as time went on. They have buffet tables offering shrimp tempura, Korean-style pork rib, various types of kimchi, fish katsu, vermicelli, fried rice, spicy squids, maki rolls, fresh fruits etc. Everyone got a free miso or spicy tofu soup.

We were somehow disappointed because we did not see the tuna sushi or salmon sushi as told by the relatvies. The beef short rib they mentioned also was no where in sight. Not sure had their menu changed or they just didn't offer them anymore. But the shrimp tempura was outstanding judged on a buffet's standard. Being a picky sushi eater, I however found maki rolls were not bad at all. The fish katsu was a pretty unique offer. Sapporo beer and Asahi were good as always.

We may not return very soon but for $15.99 we'll be back.

Kelly's to open Allston location

I've to agree with Janiekins. Even though I don't think their food is greasy, it has been going downhill and is on the pricey side for a fast food type restaurant.

Best Bakery in Chinatown and what to buy?

My fav. is Crown Royal. Love their egg tart and fried pork flakes bao.

first bad experience with H-Mart in Burlington

I made my first trip yesterday night too. I noticed that some seafood, vegetables and fruits were not that fresh. When I'm shopping at supermarket, Asian ones particularyly, I always stick to my theory that whenever I'm in doubt, don't get it or you'll regret.

Speeds dogs

I brought my friend visiting from HK to Speeds on the 12th this month and she loved it. We got there at 3:30 p.m. and the guy was closing up after he sold us the dog.

New C-Mart Washington Street Pretty Good

I just went ther for the first time yesterday and was impressed by its organization and cleanliness.

Hope it will last.

Best Cupcakes, for sure!

I tried party flavor, Kickass and Bread & Chocolate. My vote goes to Bread & Chocolate.

china pearl- quincy

Sorry to hear your bad experience.

We have been going to China Pearl in Quincy since the last few months but we do not receive bad services or have bad food. Services in Chinese restuarants are usually nothing to write home about but I don't believe they are exceptional worse than others.

But there is a point to note that we always get there before 9:30. When we were there last Sunday, we noticed that there were so many waiters, waitress and busboys and wondered that they might get real busy later of day. I guess what you report confirmed that.

Go early if you can. If not, don't give them business anymore.

where to go for chinese new year dinner

I suggest South Garden in Quincy. Good food but they are always packed at night.

Christmas in Chinatown

I recommend New Golden Gate. They were extremely busy when I was there last Saturday night. The food is different from my favorite, Best Little Restaurant, but it is good and they offer some wonderful seafood deals.

I don't know the reservation situation.

Good chinese food in Chinatown?

IMO, the best Chinese food in Chinatown is Best Little Restaurant on Hudson Street. You can literally just order whatever you see on other peoples' tables. But in term of cleaniness, it is hard for me to pinpoint any restaurants in Chinatown that any clean freaks will absolutly feel comfortable with.

Recession Busters

Have anyone tried KO Prime Retro Sun. all you can eat prime rib? It sounds good.

Need a guide to Chinatown bakeries

It is hard to miss if you are on Beach Street, which is one of the main street that runs through Chinatown. If you are there after six, they may be closed already.

I can show you around if I happen to be in Chinatown.

Recommendations for dim sum at Windsor

Went there two weeks ago and thought that some were good and some were ok but nothing were bad except beef ball. Pan fried turnip cake and dumplings were my favorites.

Best Dim Sum in Boston??

Yup. I am of of those. I vouch for China Pearl in Quincy now.

dimsum at China Pearl in Quincy (Kam Man mall)

I was thinking to write a post to praise their dim sum when I were there early Sunday but forgot all about it until I saw Spike's post.

Due to the disappointment of Hei La Moon, we decided to go to China Pearl in Quincy where parking would not be a problem even though it was a 25 minutes drive on 95. We were so glad that we did.

The cheong fun is not outstanding but at least the soy sauce does not taste like plain soy sauce. The chicken feet is an ultimate surprise for us (sorry that I have to mention chicken feet again). My husband that it is the best he ever has. I agree with him too. Not over-fried, fatty and perfect sauce. Another item that I recommand is the salt and pepper fried octopus. It is crispy, salty and spicy. The tofufa is almost perfect.

Just like Hei La Moon, we don't think they are that good when they just opened. But they are getting better and better.

No hassle, good food and shopping afterward. It is hard to beat that.

Changes in Hei Le Moon

I think it would.

Winsor should be the place to go now, if it happens to come to my mind.

Changes in Hei Le Moon

After hearing a rumor from the parent that the dim sum chef for Hei La moon had gone, we went there yesterday to verify its truthfulness.

My answer is: very likely. The most noticable item is the soy sauce for "cheung foon". The cheung foon still tasted good even though it was different. However, the soy sause was plainly salty, lacking of the sweetness that should come with it. All other items are less flavorful than before.

Only one out of the three hostresses was seen yesterday, not to mention all the new waiters.

You hear anything?

Hen House/Newmarket Sq

The name of this place sounds weired but it never hurts to give it a try.

Do they have parking? Is it close to Hampton Inn?

Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Dedham, MA

Have to get there A.S.A.P.

Sichuan gourmet Billerica

I like the one in Billerica more than the one in Framingham but we still go to the Framingham location more often as it is much closer to where we live.

RIP Aneka Rasa

Everytime we were there, we wondered how could it be still in business when most of time it was empty,

I believe it was a restaurant that deserved more business but the location was cursed.

ex-Chinatown Eatery bubble tea place reopening today

The bahn mi stall too!
