Kiin Thai Eatery

I really liked this new restaurant near Astor Place from the owners of Somtum Der. So far I've tried the crab fried rice and the spicy pork basil with preserved eggs, both very good. The menu is extensive so I definitely plan to return soon.

vegan-friendly in Financial District SIT-DOWN

Alfanoose (Arabic) and Diwan e Khaas (Indian) are very casual and inexpensive sit down places in the Financial District that offer tasty vegan dishes.

I usually get the lentil soup and grain salads at Alfanoose, and the vegetarian platter (prepared without butter I believe) at Diwan.

Terri is takeout though there are standing counters I think.

How about Alfanoose or Diwan e Khaas?

Is Del Posto worth the splurge?

Del Posto is definitely worth the splurge.

Lincoln is a more affordable alternative with food that's just as good and an equally dramatic setting.
