Is Del Posto worth the splurge?

Del Posto is definitely worth the splurge.

Lincoln is a more affordable alternative with food that's just as good and an equally dramatic setting.

Best dinner in the city for under $100 pp

I haven't been to Batard but certainly prefer Lincoln to Betony and NoMad.

Second Le Bernardin.

FWIW, my LA friends also loved Del Posto, Jeepney, Tertulia, Perla and Momofuku Ssam Bar.

"And you learn, over time, which critics / bloggers / commenters you find yourself agreeing with more often than not."

So I'm curious - which bloggers are worth reading? I'm only aware of LauHound and The Ulterior Epicure.

Blue Hill Gift Certificate

Blue Hill Gift certificates are not transferable or redeemable for cash.

Whoever gave it to you probably knew that you and your husband aren't foodies and therefore chose a farm-to-table restaurant. I'd recommend just going with gratitude and an open mind and ordering the simplest items on the menu.
