Dinner near the Lincoln Center...

Going to the ballet at the Lincoln Center next Friday and want to take my family out to dinner before hand. Any ideas? My sister is a vegetarian and generally dislikes ethnic food. Prefer no more than $15 for entrees.

Thanks!

Searching for Birthday Cake/Cupcakes...

I second the rec for Out of the Kitchen. Their icing is better than Magnolia's (the cake isn't quite as good, but, really, we all know the icing is what it's all about.) They look plain, though, so you'd probably want to add some sprinkles or something. They always have a lot made up too, so you could probably get them pretty quickly.

Let's talk pancakes...

I've been having serious cravings for pancakes lately. I've checked out some of the old threads, but I though I'd ask if anyone had any recent recommendations. I live in the Village, so especially places in the West/East Village, Soho, and Tribeca would be good.

From the old thread, I'm thinking either Shopsin's or Clinton Street Bakery. Any comments?

(p.s. I would prefer something more than just plain pancakes...something with fillings, etc and less than $10)

Good salads?

How about a great salad priced within reason? (especially in the village area, but sometimes I'd go anywhere for a really good one.)

Good place to read/study in the Village(s)?

Hiya...I'm looking for a good non-Starbucks coffeeshop, etc. that won't mind if I only drink one cup of coffee while reading a book, especially in the Village(s). I really like Grey Dog's, but they tend to be quite busy, and I either can't get a table right away, or I feel bad taking up a table that could for people ordering meals.

Any ideas?
