Where can I find non-gmo basmati or other rice besides Lundberg brand? |
|
|
I'm in the market for my very first rice cooker. I have been looking at all the Zojirushi ones on Amazon. Too much to choose from! I thought I had one picked out but apparently it needs a battery change every few years and has to be sent to the manufacturer to do so? Can anyone suggest a good rice cooker? I understand some cookers can be used for cakes and porridge as well and would love that option. |

Thank you. We need to stay close to the airport so I may check out Pier73. |

So I'm looking for a great place to eat near the airport. We have already eaten at the Fairmont Airport so want something else. If its Chinese food, has to be really safe as I don't want to be sick on our flight the next morning! |

New Chongqing location in Burnaby? Got food to go. There was a delay on the bus so it took me 45 minutes to get home. The food was good. I think it would be really good to eat in. The bus ride didn't help. Will definitely go back. They don't do dim sum tho. Same ginger beef and spicy green beans. It's a nice little restaurant. |

Dining Options in Long Beach/Tofino/Ucuelet with children Sobo is great but now closed until February. Don't miss Wildside Grill at the Live to Surf Plaza. BEST food! Open year round. Honestly, everything we have tried was fantastic. Google it to find their web site. |

Where is everyone getting their organic meat? I love Heritage Meats in Langley but its not cheap. I make the trip out there once in a while to stock up. |

New Chongqing location in Burnaby? Please tell me the new chongqing opening up at Kingsway and Nelson in Burnaby is the same as the Commercial location! I can't get enough of their ginger beef and spicy green beans. I just don't always feel like going all the way there. |

Guy Fieri in Vancouver - I'm sure you've all heard! [moved from BC] You're absolutely right! |

Major disappointment - Vera's in Gastown It's been a while since we ate at Vera's on Denman. We were stuck downtown Monday when the skytrain was out of order so we walked around Gastown looking for food. I'm giving it one star for the fries which were hot and good (good, not great!). The meat patty was smaller then what I remember and quite dry. The toppings were not good at all and all 3 of us agreed the buns were stale for sure. It is a shame to serve food like this. |

Ugggh! Seriously Cafe Pacifica No it doesn't include a room. |
|
|
Ugggh! Seriously Cafe Pacifica $180 per person for new years eve buffet dinner. Not including tax or gratuities or drinks! I mean could that be a misprint? That's absurd! I can eat quite a bit of food but I can't eat $200 worth in one sitting! |

Where do I start? I googled but didnt find much info. Has anyone ever tried making their own gourmet mustard? |

Found some good old threads about olive oil but thought I would start a new one. I'm overwhelmed with the amount of oils at the specialty markets and never seem to buy the right one. I like a nice oil without a strong taste for tossing pasta with a little garlic and parmesan and dipping bread. Any suggestions? Same goes for balsamic. So many choices. |

Szechuan Chongqing Commercial Dr Does anyone know if they have a new chef? We were there a couple of weeks ago and it was not very good. So disappointing as we have been going there for years. Now what? ----- |

Suggestions in Vancouver or Burnaby for special birthday dinner Thanks for the suggestions. Any nice view besides a street view is what I meant. Water view is always nice tho! I still don't have a reservation anywhere. |

Suggestions in Vancouver or Burnaby for special birthday dinner oh I forgot to say casual. Don't want to dress up too much. |

Sooke Harbor House vs. Wickaninnish Been to both several times. I would choose the Wick hands down. If you want solitude, go to Tofino. Besides the Wickanninish, there is the Raincoast Cafe which is excellent and the Schooner restaurant is good. We found the food just ok and ambiance at Sooke Harbour House just way too snooty. ----- Raincoast Cafe |

Suggestions in Vancouver or Burnaby for special birthday dinner Its only 6 of us but I'd like something with a nice view and of course great food. I had it narrowed down to Cin Cin or Italian Kitchen but neither really have a view. Any other suggestions? Thanks! |

OK so we know there are a million sushi places in Vancouver and many are very good. What are the top 5 in the downtown area? I'm looking for something where they have the basic sushi for those who are not super adventurous but I also enjoy trying something different so want to please the whole group. |

The pizza at AG is very good. Keep in mind the taste is not the traditional pizza but the crust is great. |

What is happening to restaurants these days! We had dinner at the Old Boot in Sechelt last night and it was awful. Just terrible! We have been there before and the food was good. Not great but good. But last night was possibly the worst meal of my life quite honestly. Also the service was very poor. Non existent actually. Someone needs to open up a good place to eat in Sechelt. I don't know how you can go wrong with pasta but the sauce was just disgustingly sweet. Someone screwed up making this batch of sauce. |

Best Burger in Vancouver - what's your vote? Burger Heaven is still my fave. I've had more lousy burgers at Red Robin and would never go back there. White Spot is hit and miss. It's always delicious at Burger Heaven. |

Wally Burgers is back and in Killarney Market (49th and Elliott). Yummy!!! Went there today. Its outside in the strip mall next to the pet hospital. I have bad news. It wasn't worth the trip. Yes the burgers look the same but they dont taste the same. Not even close. The sauce did not taste the same at all and there was too much of it. The patties were tough. It was quite busy but I can't imagine going back when I can go to Burger Heaven. A Deluxe Wagon combo was $9.50. Oh there isn't a lot of room and no tables. Just a counter along the wall with stools. I dont believe there is a washroom either. Major disappointment! |

Restaurant suggestion for meat and vegetarian group We're staying in the King and Dufferin area for a few days visiting some friends in Toronto. One is a vegetarian and the rest of us will eat anything. Suggestions for a good place to eat please! |

Bloor & Dufferin restaurant suggestions Looking for a reasonably priced, nice atmosphere, good food for a group of 8-10 people. Love some suggestions. Could be italian or other suggestions welcome. |

Quick Kirin dim sum review - Vancouver Dont hurry to Lux. It's OK but certainly not close to being excellent. We have been a few times when we crave dim sum and its too far to go into town . We'll try Empire Garden in Walnut Grove next time. |
