The Grappolo space in Chappaqua...

I went here for lunch and was not impressed. Mediocre salads and my octopus was just so so.

Augie's Mohegan Lake

Came across this place while driving along Rte 6, and stopped in to check out the scene. I decided that since it was mid day I would come back with my girlfriend on a Friday afternoon.

Stopped in and they have Happy Hour until 7pm which is a pretty good deal with half priced apps along with 2 for 1 draft beer. Our apps were simple food, Tomato and Mozz, Shrimp cocktail (which were enormous) and tuna tartae. All were presented in a timely fashion with skilled servers. My girlfriend had a martini from their list, and it was a generous pour and tasty. Later on, I enjoyed a glass of red wine and the pour was more than generous than most steak houses that I have been at. The scene is an interesting one. Since we sat at the bar we could not grasp their service. The place is spotless along with the bathrooms which is important since, I think that bathroom cleanliness is very important. Most of the entrees looked amazing colossal shrimp and Veal chop to name a few. I will return..

hudson restaurant, briarcliff manor, ny

something tells me that Paul will not be around in the coming months.

The Tavern at Croton Landing

I checked out this place for drinks on one or two ocasions but it was not for reading about them in the lohud.com paper that I then wanted to taste what they had to offer. I went with my family on a Saturday night and the place was packed. We were lucky to snatch a table and then got down to ordering. We all ordered burgers my son and wife were very pleased. I had the turkey burger which was one of the juciest turkey burgers that I ever tasted. Great meal

Went back again the week after to try their wings and pizza. I also had the BLT with turkey for take out. Again they were crowded but the staff was very friendly and attentive and again the food was very good. The pizza was simple but very good. All in all a place that I would have no hesitation to go back to.

iL Sorriso

well I apologize for the lack of a location for the place. Give it a try at some point and check it out. They have a patio that overlooks the RR tracks and I think you can see the hudson.

iL Sorriso

My family dined here for lunch this past weekend, and it was a very nice experience. I had the pasta special which was stuffed eggplant with rigatoni, my wife had the mushroom stuffed ravioli which there were ample amounts. Finally although there is no children’s menu, the staff provided a great dish of chicken tenders with French fried. He also enjoyed the authentic gelato which was very good as well. A great place, that we would return to.

Fig and Olive opening in Scarsdale!

VIP opening starting this Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I think the grand opening is this weekend?

Village Social Mt Kisco

you would be correct.

Blue Hill at Stone Barns Help - PLEASE!!

likewise, I was there the other night, and everyone was dressed quite well. I did not have a tie on and felt out of place. nice looking jeans, I would find something else in your wardrobe.

Blue Hill at Stone Barn concept change

DD, I know about the menu, lucky that I eat everything, and would love some lamb neck, that would be great. We are going with other people who do not understand the concept, so it should be interesting to see how they take it. I will post my results next week.

Blue Hill at Stone Barn concept change

going next Sunday, should be great. Was last there in September.

Village Social Mt Kisco

Went here last night after having kunch a couple of weeks ago.

Place was a scene, bustling with many people at the bar and tables were full. Not loud but a good feeling...

Had two drinks to start off a beer and a mediocre Savingnon Blanc ( I am a wine snob) My wife did get to try another white as a taste , thus they are quite accomodating.

Ordered pasta's... Mine was Pappadelle with shortribs and my wife had the linguine with seafood. Both were very well cooked with good seasoning and tastes. Bill came to $64.00 and was not overpriced in my book. Both pasta dishes were entree portions, so we were quite sated. Would go back....two stars out of four.

Westchester places for lunch

went here, and what nice decor. Great wine list, with many bottles at or below $50. The ladies had salads and I had the Wild Board Pizza with a glass of Ojai Chardonay. Food was good, will be back.

Westchester places for lunch

been there, not that impressed.

Westchester places for lunch

Looking for a mid priced place that offers salads for the older ladies in my party and either a chicken sandwich of burger for me.. Suggestions ?

Ocean House, Croton

Went in on a Sunday night and had a dozen of the oysters to start. All of them were amazing, the servers were spot on with regard to what was present on the chalkboard. I then had the gazpacho with Maine crab meat, which was very elegant and refreshing. For entree's my wife had the scallops in a mustard sauce and I had the monkfish. Both were delightful, however we wre less than impressed with the flavor of the vegetables. For dessert we tried the creme brulee and it was a mess, which they comped us for.

Zagat gave this place a 28 on food which puts them on par with Blue Hill. In no way is this food even close to a 28. 24 at best. i would go back however and eat as much oysters as the chef will allow.

A&P stores closing; apparently one in Yorktown Heights

the next question is what will take its place? Another large store or will it be chopped up.

La Panetiere-Rye Tried and True

Ate here recently as well. The meal was superb. Wines by the glass were excellent as well. The food selections were sweetbreads, Duck Pate, Poached Lobster and Rib Eye...

X2O..not bad....

My wife and dined here for the prix fixe, $25.00 lunch. The meal was not bad, although my meal was not the best. I had coconut shrimp which was great as was my wifes' mushroom ravioli. My wife had the Salmon which was cooked perfectly. My pork loin was not as impressive, since there was charred kale and rather bland polenta. The wines by the glass were nice. Great service and a not so bad view of NJ. Would probably head back there for dinner.

Any Good BBQ in Brooklyn?

Smoke Joint in Fort Greene, has great BBCUE.

Elementi in Park Slope Files for Bankruptcy

Mike, they have one named Coco Rocco, Peruvian yes, not sure about the chicken though.

Ahh Snooky's that place was awesome back in the day

Elementi in Park Slope Files for Bankruptcy

not surprised at all, they had a large space and it was never very busy.

Brook Vin, new wine bar

I also stopped by to check this place out andI do agree with Tbird that it is not an authentic wine bar but it is a bar, that fills a niche on the avenue. The fact that they serve more wine than regular bars probably makes them an enoteca if this were Italy.

Brook Vin, new wine bar

Anyeone tried it yet on 7th ave between 11th and 12th street? Do they serve food? I know that they are affiliated with Big Nose Full Body across the street; so how are the wines? Curious minds want to know

Christmas Day Restaurants - Park Slope area?

Not many today, except maybe bar/restaurants. Also asian restaurants are probably open

Maria's Mexican Bistro...

Such a shame, the place used to be great. Oh well, either they sold out, or lost it under the expansion

Maria's Mexican Bistro...

Whatever happened to Marias's on 4th ave and Union? They expanded and now there is a new name on the awning. I loved the tacos and Eduardo the owner had great tequilas.
