Evey time my almost 60 non-hip parents come to town they insist on Mamas on the Halfshell in Canton. It's casual and good seafood. Not too pricy. |

It looks like it's opening soon. They have just taken the paper off the windows and put some plants out front, but there is no sign announcing a date. Fingers crossed that it is good. |

I liked Winks, too. The menu is a bit unispired but the food is very good and extremely reasonable. It's BYOB for a while longer. They also have good mid-week specials. It's a great place to go if you live in the area and don't feel like cooking. |

Wednesday nights are half price pasta dishes at Winks in Brewers Hill. Good food and BYOB (2.50 cork fee per table) |

Buddy's (Thurs night) is no longer there. It's now Jack's Bistro, which is really yummy. I don't know if there are nightly specials, but I was there for late night snacks and appetizers were half price. |

Driving back from Pittsburgh to D.C. Stop in downtown Freederick for tons of options. Very charming town and not far out of your way at 70/270. Isabellas is great for tapas. The Tasting Room and Brewer's Alley are good, too. La Paz is decent mexican. |
