Little D's Eatery

I'm surprised not to see more attention paid to Little D's Eatery on this board. Park Slope's not a great dining neighborhood, and this place strikes me as underappreciated.

My wife and I have eaten there numerous times, we have recommended it to friends, and we have taken several out-of-town guests there. It's a unanimous favorite. Right now it ranks with Al Di La as our favorite place is PS, and every one of our guests who have returned to NYC have asked to go back to LD.

We ate there last night and had an outstanding meal, highlighted by a special of catfish, crawfish, and a chile relleno. Was skeptical of how this would turn out, but I didn't need to be. The food was perfect.

The service is friendly, the decor is pleasant, the food is excellent. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone dining in Park Slope.

Resto review

Noise is definitely a problem. I ate there tonight with my wife and was shocked at the volume to crowd ratio. It was like they were miking the place. As for the food, we had the deviled eggs, ballen, beef cheeks, and moules frites. The mussels were good. The eggs were overpowered by the pork toast. The cheeks had an amazing texture and an average taste. i wouldn't order it again. As for the much praised ballen, I don't see what the fuss is about. Somebody on this board said the mustard seed aioli tasted like dijonaise. I had the same thought. I'd go back to Resto because it's close to my job and the beers are good. The food's not bad, but the rave reviews in the Times and elsewhere surprise me a bit. I mean, their whole hooks is frites but you can scoot over a few blocks and get far better ones at Les Halles.

Dining recommendations for 11 men on a Friday?

Thanks for the recommendations. They all look excellent. Based on the pork content on the menu, we're hitting Cochon. I can't pass up fried boudin.

Dining recommendations for 11 men on a Friday?

My best friend is getting married, and we're of an age at which eating too much, drinking a lot, and smoking cigarettes offers more sinful pleasure than anything Vegas can offer. For that reason we're hitting NO this weekend for his bachelor weekend.

People are coming from NYC, Cali, and Colorado for this shindig. I'm organizing it, and want to show the people who have never been there what a fantastic city it is. We're eating at August on Saturday. Can anyone recommend a good place for us to go on Friday that can seat a party of our size and that's a little more casual?
