Quiet Friday dinner?

Thanks all! Naha it is. Saturday the husband has reservations at Bavette's. How's the atmosphere there?

Quiet Friday dinner?

We're staying in River North. I'm open to any style of food. Husband is a chef. We're fairly adventurous eaters, but as a personal preference I don't do organ meats. I'd like a tasting menu. I'd like to be out the door for less than $300 for two people--but honestly I'm flexible on that as well. Edited to say we'll have a car for our visit, too.

Quiet Friday dinner?

Hi all-
We'll be in Chicago for my birthday this October on a Friday. I'm not a fan of crowds (ha) or the loud, can't talk to my dining companion kind of environments. No matter how great the food, if the atmosphere puts me over the Paxil edge, I'm not enjoying myself. Can you think of a "dining experience" that fits the bill? Thanks!

One night in South Beach

Thoughts on OLA? Just looked for reservations at Bazaar. Nothing till 9:30. Grandma here can't wait that long.

Yeah, I want to park the car and not move it till I have to.

One night in South Beach

Hi all-
I'll be in South Beach one night--a Monday--and am looking for a memorable dinner. Price isn't really an issue. I see Yardbird gets rave reviews, but I am Southern and feel like I eat some pretty epic fried chicken on a weekly basis. And Joe's Stone Crab is doing summer hours and isn't open on Mondays. What would you recommend?

Noted. Will getting seating be a problem?

Asheville BBQ/weekend lunch options

I'll be in Asheville for a long weekend in October. I hear lots of hype about 12 Bones, but is it really worth the PITA parking/wait (I'd be doing a Saturday lunch)?

Any other suggestions appreciated.

I've got my requisite Admiral reservation set for Friday night, and figure we'll do Tupelo Honey for breakfast on the way out of town Sunday.

Light lunch/big dinner in Savannah

I'll stuff the hubs in some khakis and let him ride in a rickshaw if it's too hot. :-)

Thanks all!

Garibaldi's RW menu looks great. I think we'll try there. Quick question. Is it the kind of place the hubby can wear khaki shorts and a polo?

I guess I should say--will I regret not eating at Elizabeth's?

Light lunch/big dinner in Savannah

We're going to be in Savannah two days next week, and I'd like a little help finding two things.

First, we're having dinner early on Sunday to accommodate a tour, so I'd like to find somewhere to eat a light lunch. Since we're only here two days I really want it to be somewhere worth eating and not a throw away deal just to stave off hunger.

The next night I'm having a dilemma. I'd like to eat at Elizabeth on 37th. But it's not within easy walking distance of our hotel AND it's restaurant week, so there are good deals at some other places that look interesting--Vic's on the River in particular. What would you do?
