Old Top Chef Clip- contestants drunk making fun of quickfire?
Hey everyone,
This is from an OLD Top Chef Episode but I can't remember which...Can anyone help me out and tell me what season it's from? I'm pretty sure the clip was shown during a reunion special...
They show a clip from the house the contestants are staying in, they are all drunk and making fun of the quickfire and the top chef judges. I thought Elia was in it but now I'm thinking it might have been Sara...I can't remember. They say something along the lines of "you have 30 seconds to make a dish" and the contestants scramble and put things in the oven and pull another dish out of the oven to present when the time goes off. Three other contestants are sitting as the judges and each one makes fun of one of the judges. They say things like "this beef tastes too beefy" and say that 30 seconds should have been long enough.
I thought this clip was HILARIOUS and I can't remember which season it was from (1...3...4...?). I'd like to show it to a couple of people so if anyone has any ideas please let me know.
Thanks!

Home Pig Roast Help
Hello,
I'm planning a pig roast for my boyfriends 30th birthday. I've done a lot of research on the internet about sourcing, prep, rentals, etc
My question is about roast times. I'm getting a 60-65# fresh pig and I was planning on roasting it on this open rotisserie like this:
http://www.partyplusrentals.com/view_item_baltimore_rentals_columbia_timonium_towson_baltimore_county_md.php?id=552
I was budgeting about 6-8 hours to roast at about 225 F (from most websites).
Now my sister roasted a 50# pig in a closed grill like this:
http://thepleasanthouse.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/spit-roasted-pig.jpg?w=500&h=375
SHE says that it took her pig forever to cook and I should start it overnight (12+hours) to make sure its done in the early afternoon. She also says the meat will start to fall off the pig long before its fully ready so I should use chicken wire on the outside.
Does anyone have any first hand experience about how long it should take? and if chicken wire is really required?
Thanks
pepper mills- multiple kinds of pepper
Hello,
I'm looking to purchase a pepper mill as a gift to my sister who has 4 different kinds of pepper. I would like either a pepper mill that will hold all four types and allow you to choose ONE at a time to grind. Or I would like a nice set where you can move the grinding mechanism from one kind of pepper container to the next.
Does anyone know if something like this exists?
Thanks!
Winesap Apples in DC/MD area
I am looking for vintage Winesap apples (not stayman winesap hybrids) in the DC or MD area. I've found them in some PYO orchards in VA but they are all 2+ hours away.

Does anyone know where I can find them around here?
Thanks!
Sodium alginate in DC/MD area?
Nothing super fancy, I was planning on making faux cranberry caviar to put on our deep fried turkey and maybe the lemon dessert. :)
Sodium alginate in DC/MD area?
Does anyone know where I can buy Sodium alginate in the DC area? I know I can buy it online but I would like to use it for Thanksgiving.
Thanks!
live or frozen mantis prawns

Does anyone know where I can get some of these? I had some in Japan, but I really don't see them around the US. Is there a restaurant in the DC area that serves these? Thanks
cheapish, food near 30 Rockefeller plaza
My boyfriend and I are going to a taping of Conan this thursday (hooray!) and we're looking for a good place to eat within a short walking distance of 30 rockefeller plaza. We like most foods, but we'd like somewhere that isn't super greasy. We're looking to have entrees $20 or below. I was looking at Cafe Europa, is that a good option?
Thanks.
Buy Duck Fat
I know for certain that Dean and Delucca in Georgetown has it with the cured meats and cheeses, but its probably way over priced.
Casual Excellent Seafood, not sushi
Hi,
I'm looking for a place with excellent seafood but not an asian restaurant. I'd like somewhere where we could get away with jeans and a t-shirt, but price doesn't matter (even though most casual places aren't expensive).
Otherwise, maybe just a casual place with excellent food in general? I don't want a cheap eatery or take out place, I'd like it to be a restuarant that takes reservations.
Thanks!
Fruity Lambics on tap in DC/MD
I'm looking for Belgian Lambic Fruit Beers on Tap in the DC/MD area. I can find them bottled, but I'd like to get a pint on tap.
Thanks.
Seafood/American dinner like Babbo
Hello,
I will be bringing my boyfriend to NYC for his birthday and I was looking for a Seafood or American style restaurant that would be similar to Babbo's style and prices. I was going to take him to Babbo in January but recently he said that he likes Seafood a lot so I was hoping for some advice about a Seafood place (or American) that is relatively upscale (dress similar to Smart casual) and would run us around $150 total for 2 people (not including wine) and be located in Manhattan.
Thanks.
