Ethnic food near Fort Knox, KY

I'm off to visit the in-laws in Brandenburg KY in a couple weeks and am desperate for some new dining options. I'm always aware of a density of ethic eateries in the vicinity of Fort Knox, which makes a lot of sense, but am a little nervous about checking places out sight unseen. Any recos out there for good eats in that area, including Elizabethtown and environs?

David Lebovitz doesn't like the no-knead bread, at all!

I, too, made the no-knead bread. (Well, to be accurate, my other half made it. I supervised.) I actually agree with David in that it is a tad flavorless. Morever, I found the texture of the crumb to be leathery, and it was utterly inabsorbent, which made it a poor companion to a nice hearty soup. I'm not saying we wouldn't try it again, and it may well have good applications. I love the hard crust and the airiness of the crumb, so perhaps it just needs some finessing.

Recs in Japan Center or the area

I like Sapporo-ya as noodle houses go; it's on the second floor of the Kinokuniya building. All the restos on the bridge are fairly interchangeable ... but there is one that makes pretty good okonomiyaki. You know, it's the one with the plastic food out front. ;-)

Angeleno traveling to San Francisco needs help

I second Aziza, definitely. Acquerello is perhaps the best Italian food I have ever had, barring meals in Italy. Very romantic as well. Cafe Claude if you're downtown and want a lovely bistro lunch. Medjool if you want nummy pan-Med small plates, cool cocktails and lots of eye candy. Limon for the ubiquitous Peruvian, but Destino is a good fallback if you cannot get in.
