Looking for Chowish food to satisfy a somewhat adventurous large group of about 15 people for dinner in the DC area. We don't necessarily need a private room, but we do need something that isn't too loud.

Pre-Theater Dinner Near the Wadsworth Theater in Brentwood?
Looking for dinner before the show this Thursday night--nothing too casual or steakhouse like, and we're not interested in Mexican food. Was thinking maybe Katsuya but I don't know how long and drawn out of an experience that is--we'd want dinner to run just under two hours.

Update: Ca'Dario came to their senses and no longer have a set menu for larger parties. However, instead of the lame rule, they won't take a reservation at all for parties of 8 or larger.

Saturday Night Dinner in Ventura?
Cafe Fiore is good in a pinch if you're in the mood for Americanized Italian food, but is certainly not chow-worthy.
Westside Cellars on Main Street does smaller plates--not "small plates", just smaller portions--the filet with bleu on a risotto cake is phenomenal, and the duck breast is out of this world. They also do an excellent cheese platter (get all the extras) and have an impressive wine list.
Aloha Steakhouse is also good if you are looking for steak and seafood (and hula pie)--great steak au poivre, and last weekend they had fresh ono on the menu.
Both require reservations on a Saturday night.

Now that Fresco has taken over Citronelle's beautiful space on Cabrillo in Santa Barbara, maybe there will finally be some chow-worthy food to go along with that spectacular view.
