That sounds like something I will definitely want to check out next time I'm in town, but probably too expensive for him. Thanks1

Her folks live in Las Vegas, so he's staying with them. He drove his car down there, and is probably limited to a price point of $25 - $30 per person. Cuisine is less important than the ambiance and budget.

My boyfriend's son is in Las Vegas for a couple of days to ask his girlfriend's parents for the hand of their daughter - the old fashioned way. He is asking for a recommendation for a nice but not too expensive restaurant in which to ask for the parents' blessing, and the only places we can think of are the ritzy ones in the hotels, which I imagine he would want to avoid. Any suggestions?

lentil salad from Le Pain Quotidien

Thanks, that's great information! Putting a touch of pesto in the dressing made it extra special at Le Pain Quotidien, so I will try that, too.

I can't stop thinking about that salad....the waitress said it had a touch of pesto, and a simple white whine vinaigrette. I tried adding those two ingredients to an arugula salad, sans the lentils, and it came pretty darn close.
