"Fine" dining on Frenchmen Street?

Stella! is very close and is quintessential "fine dining"

Please help an ex-resident decide!!!!!

I really love Stella, however, I would say that it is similar fare to some of the other restaurants that you mentioned in your original post. Patois is my favorite place to eat in the city, atm. I would also go to Coquette for lunch....love, love, love eating there!

A few restaurants we really liked in NOLA

wow! you ate really, really well.

Coop's

some of the best food in the city? really?

an argument could be made for "best bar food", but surely not best food.

Restaurants overlooking the lake on the Southshore

the food is absolutely awful at landrys. i love crab and they even managed to turn me off their crab platter.

it is a shame since its such a nice spot.

boston chef wants to know top 5 fine dining restaurants to visit in NO

his food is much better than her books. :)

My favorites, at the moment, are Patois, Coquette, Del Porto, Stella, Iris, August (great lunch special on Friday's), and Cochon for lunch. I also like to go to Domenica for small plates and pizza.

Help me plan five days in New Orleans?

If you don't mind driving some distance, Del Porto in Covington, is an amazing Italian restaurant.

I'm....Ron Burgundy? Need some advice on Magazine St places

Coquette is on Magazine Street and it is in my top five restaurants. Try the bacon infused bourbon!

Clancy's or Patois?

Patois is much better than Clancy's.

Help build our dream restaurant weekend in New Orleans. Please.

I would go to Bayona for the Saturday lunch and either Brigtsen's, Patois or Coquette (sorry for adding more options, but these should certainly be considered!) for the dinner. I wouldn't waste your time on Mother's.

Here's what I've got so far...

I would change your Saturday lunch to Luke and go to Cochon or Herbsaint for lunch on Friday. Friday dinner, Patois, Iris or Coquette...they are all amazing AND they all make great special cocktails!! Sunday brunch is a great choice. For cocktails, I second the recommendation for Bar Tonique. Also, Cure is a great place uptown.

Disappointing food trip to NOLA (very long review)

+1 AM! Additionally, corn not pairing well with crab? I don't know how that could ever be possible.

Dinner time question...

it is now called jimbeaux's.

First Timer Reviews

No, we don't expect Commander's...Mother's is what it is, a horrible, horrible tourist trap.

Best (or even good) Coffee or Espresso in N.O.?

I have lived in New Orleans for several years, and, sadly , I must agree that decent coffee is sorely lacking here. The best cup of coffee that I have had, in and around the Marigny/French Quarter/Uptown region, is at Stanley. It is a pretty decent cup of coffee. So decent, that I will walk past many coffee shops on my way to work and go out of my way for it...

7 Dinners in 7 Nights

Del Porto (it is on the Northshore), Patois, Stella, Bistro Daisy, August or La Provence, Boucherie (for lunch), Iris, Herbsaint, Cochon (for lunch), Mila (for appetizers), Casementos, Bayona (amazing sweetbreads), Brigtsen's...

Sunday Dinner

The best choice for Sunday, however, it is a bit expensive, is Stella!!! It is one of my favorites!

Coquette on Magazine

oh, the old Table One and Takumi location. boy Takumi didnt last long -- then again w/ special rolls at $17 i can see why, i love sushi but only needed to go there once.

cheers to the new spot, hope they do well.

Cash strapped weekend in NO

Boucherie...

Pizza in NOLA - where?

Have you tried Cafe Nino on Carrolton?

Dining on a budget

Boucherie on Jeannette Street. It is really great and there isn't a dish over $15.

BBQ

To be honest, New Orleans isn't really a barbecue town. I have heard that Squeal, on Oak Street, is fairly good. IMHO, Voodoo Barbecue is terrible...Sorry, jreedtattooer!

Bacco's Martini Lunch

I have to respectfully disagree. Although I am not a fan of most of their food, I love, love, love the barbecue shrimp. And, you can sling back a 5 cent martini, or two, or three and lose the afternoon!

Ideas for a Sunday?

Rambla is open on Sunday...

Something Different for Saturday Night

i wasnt impressed w/ Dante's brunch, either. i mentioned this to a friend who lives nearby it and he said the dinners are better.

ill give it another shot.

Mandeville/Covington Area

I am planning a special birthday dinner excursion to the area and will be dining at Del Porto. Are there any cool places to have pre-dinner cocktails in this area? Thanks...

Port or Madeira?

W.I.N.O. on tchoupitoulas is good.

Good Grocery 70114(that delivers too?)

yeah, i'm sure that there are plenty of nice people out there that would be willing to help you out. ie. take her shopping or pick some stuff up! i would hate to think of my mom eating bad food because she couldn't get around.

Late Friday Night Arrival

Mimi's in the Marigny serves tapas until 4 am. It is very good... Also, Pravda in the French Quarter serves food relatively late. I have heard great things about it, however, I have yet to try it.
