I hadn't seen it mentioned here, so wanted to put in a plug.

TRENDZ restaurant in the Best Western Dartmouth ( http://www.trendzcafe.ca/ ) is the BEST restaurant I've dined in during the past 13 months in the maritimes. Mind you, the visit was a year ago, so I can't say if they still have the same chef, but it was really a memorable dining experience, we had breakfasts, lunches, and dinners there for a few days. Not crazy expensive or fancy, but nice atmosphere and very reasonable priced considering the exceptionally high quality of the cooking

Lot 30, Gahan's pub, Claddagh Oyster Bar, Leonhardt's (brunch) , Dunes in cavendish, PEI preserve factory - all very good

there is a quite excellent Greek restaurant in Fredericton, not real fancy or expensive, but great food

I spent the last decade in Russia, and really miss TVOROG of various kinds.

Mostly, the 'pressed cottage cheese" variety, but also the softer smoother (usually sweetened dessert) varieties. I think the smooth kind is pretty much equivalent to "Quark"...

By any chance does anyone know where similar soft cheeses can be purchased?

OK, drove through the town on the way to Parlee beach, saw signs everywhere, and a lobster mascot waving from back of a pickup truck.

So - WHERE TO GO for a nice fresh-cooked lobster dinner?

Any hints? Tripadvisor has only given us warnings about reheated cold lobster at various places. And lots of great hints where to get good fish and chips and fired clams.

but we want LOBSTER! :-)
